Depends to some degree on the source of traffic, but here's two observations ...

    1. It's essentially a list. "Top 10 Rated Diet Pills That Actually Work!" People love lists.

    2. People hate to be sold to, but they love to buy. This site gives the reader the feeling that he's been empowered. He's free to read the options at his own pace and make a choice.

Bunch of reasons. One is that the format works for the niche. Informative lists and review-oriented content is gold in some niches. In this niche, for example, many visitors have already made up their minds to buy before they even do a Google search. They are in a buying frame of mind - they just want to know what to buy. This site wastes no time helping them with that problem and only that problem. It doesn't waste the buyer's time by trying to do anything else.

It does well because it's a site specifically designed to not only work within a niche that has motivated buyers, but also is the kind of site a visitor who has already made up their mind to buy will even see. Weight loss is an incredible niche because the whole culture, the media, and other people's websites do most of the pre-selling for you. Those pre-sold customers find this page and their primary problem, what to buy, is skillfully solved for them.

High conversion rates aren't at all surprising with this page. This isn't a sales letter. The prospects visiting this page are in a completely different (and much more pre-sold) frame of mind than those visiting sales letters. The customers buying from this page are already sold on buying something - they just want to know what specific product to pop for.

I think the most important reason is that is gives an impression of authority site, and trusted site. You have chat support, telephone support, address, phone number...etc.

On the other hand it offers free shipping! People looooooooove free shipping. Free shipping has much bigger influence than the actual product price. Oh and let's do not forget the lifetime guarantee.

As I surf around google for diet pill related keywords, I notice they come up pretty frequently in the adwords.

Checking their backlinks, it doesn't look like they've gone particularly gung ho with SEO.

So it seems to me reason #1 the site does well is that they're buying a ton of high-quality traffic for it.
