I'm just start to learn copywriting. Where do you think I should start? e.g. books, courses, etc.

      That sounds like a pitch from a grade 8 student. I think you're being serious tho... right?

      There is a great lesson to be learned here of what NOT to do. Make sure you provide value BEFORE you pitch.

      But anyways your comment made me laugh. Just had to say.

      Anyways mustard, a great place to start would also be Hypnotic Writing by Joe Vitale, and John Carlton's courses are pretty damn good. I've gone through is Copywriting Sweat Shop DvD's. He's straight, to the point and leaves all the bulls**t behind. Just the way I like it!

    If I were you, I'd get a mentor. You'll learn a lot faster than reading books. Besides, they will most likely provide you with critiques. I recommend Raydal Edwards. Vin Montello also mentors, you might want to try his availability. Hope this helps.

    Oh, I'm definitely not knocking books. Buy as many as you can and read them first to get a feel of what copywriting is all about.

      If the OP can afford a mentor/coach/consultant, that may be the route to go. It can definitely be a short cut to getting results.

      Other than that, some good books from amazon might help. Dan Kennedy, Bob Bly, ect..

        It depends. since were on an IM forum I'm going to assume you're interested in writing SEO optimized articles and content.

        One of the best ebooks on this subject I've EVER read is "How To Increase Keyword Saturation Without Destroying the Flow of Your Copy" by karon Thackston.

      Do go check out AWAI... but they're not even close to being the best. I wouldn't recommend you drop $500 on it, especially when there is so much better teaching for under a hundred bucks.

      But if you really want AWAI...

      Go on ebay or elsewhere and find a former student selling his for under $75. They're on there all the time.

    and besides copy writing, you might want to pick up some persuasion and influence books. That's what selling is about.

    I usually pick up a magazine from a newsagent - something like "Home business opportunities" or similar, depending on where you live.

    Go through the mag, and sign up for anything advertising a "free report".

    The free report is usually an OK-to-awesome sales letter.

    Get about 20 of these letters, and keep them in a file.

    After reading 10, you will get the gist of it. All of them will kinda sound the same after a while, because they all follow the same pattern.

    Pay attention to the headlines, write down the ones that work on YOU.

    Use similar phrases in your own copywriting.

    Next, look out for free "introductory" seminars in your area. These are always sales pitches to sell a bigger product. Go to them, and observe their sales process, the marketing material they hand out, and the phrases they use during the presentation. Those guys spend a lot of money on their sales process, so are good to learn from.
