How can I convert better?

Hi
I have been getting more traffic to my website lately, but my conversions are pretty slow. so far for the last 3 months I have been making only 200$ a month.

Here is my website:
dance-stock dot com

What am I doing wrong...?

I used to sell packages at around 149$ and sold 1 package each month.

I`m selling better now [people prefer buying single clips and not packages].
But still, how can I improve my conversions?

Thank you

Best thing to do is test and track. Do some tweaks on your site and provide a good call to action. I also recommend you add an opt-in for on the side so people can subscribe to whatever updates you have. Email marketing is a great way to get sales. Always provide good content to them as well. This is what will keep people going to your site. Make sure you also have a facebook fan page. Developing a strong social media presence is very important.

When I visit your site I have no idea what it's about, what to do, where to go. . . as a visitor I'm left thinking:

What am I doing on the site?

    Who are you?

    What are you providing?

Why should I go to you instead of your competitor?

Why do I need your product?

Sometimes it isn't enough to go "Cool stuff eh? Buy it."

I'm not saying you have to do a sales page or anything. . . but you should be at least give your visitors something.

Also the content you do have on the site is very very brief and not very informative or engaging. It should be touched up a bit to make it look less of an afterthought.

      Hey there Manku$h

I don't think people not knowing what your site is about is the big issue, those who understand your service will know what it's for.

What I am seeing is confusion in too many choices, lots of good graphics and video footage, but no spark.

      Here's what I mean.

On the front page of the site, you should have a killer video welcoming people to the site, telling them what they will find there and what they should do next (get straight to sending them to your products or, even better, get them on your list by GIVING them a well produced clip) that will get them on your list and allow you to make more offers in the future.

When you do your welcome video, be sure it has killer night club or hip hop music behind a narration voice over, and the video footage should show you navigating through the site.

On the video clip Product pages... the add to cart option is Ok, but why not have a "Popular Premier" option. Sell each clip set in packages like this:

Freestyle Clubbing - Choose from one of our pre keyed Freestyle Clubbing kits at $5.99 or, choose our Popular Premier option and receive the whole package for $19.97! That's right, all 5 SD clips for only $19.97, that's a savings of $10 and you receive the entire SD collection

Create packages like that for the 4K and HD of each product package.

This will allow people to have more freedom, and I'll bet you will be selling more. If not selling more, at least you will turn more profit from each sale.

When it comes to your tutorials, the YouTube tutorials are fine, but I would offer a membership, at $7.95 per month, with tutorials that are branded to your site.

As an added bonus for their monthly membership, each month they will receive 2 Clips at no extra charge.

It's about increasing the value, the flexibility and your profit per viewer.

Also, it's about building a follow up list of prospects on the front end of the site, and building a recurring and one time buyers list.

The membership will give you the recurring, be sure you promote that to your current and past customers. Once they are members, deliver higher levels of value and make more offers within the members area.

Hope this helps, I've found a lot of success at the tune of nearly $20K per month implementing methods like this for myself and clients.

The formula is: Get people to stay, get people to want more, make more offers, build more profits!

      Ciao

Wow. I`m overwhelmed by the amount of advice : )
Thanks guys. I appreciate the time and effort you all took to think and help me out here.

Ok, Eric, you are right. I just re-entered the website and tried to think about it and it does look odd. from a fresh eyes point of view it`s not even written something like "your resource for dancers on green screen" or something like that. even though most of my clients are already into video editing, I will change it, or at least will create some inspiring slogen to appear up near the logo. and some titles as "our packages" or at least "choose from one of our packages" . its basic. and since I had to do so much to build the website [I`m not a pro] I just forgot all about it...

Bob, I had a video you can see it here:
    youtube.com/watch?v=paguvL7kJ6o

This video was on when I just opened the site.
It seems it was annoying to most people as they told me to take it off. got pm from people on my youtube channel [that`s where I get most of my clients from] but it might be worth to try one more time and launch some packages : )

Your ideas are great!, I might have trouble doing membership content as it takes a lot of time and I`m using wpRobot to get content to the tutorials section in my site - BUT - I will send an email to all of the people who already bought and tell them about the packages and some new footage for christmas.

Look like I have some work for this weekend : )

You know, I'd put that video back up, I'd just edit out the price so they can chose the package which best suits their needs. Also, man you got over 10K views on that video on YouTube, put an active link in your description pointing back to your site.

Don't focus on a few people telling you to take the video down, that video has some draw and it's produced really well

Yeah took me a while to figure out what your site was about.

My suggestion? Create an optin at the top to capture emails first, and send people content explaining what you provide and how it's helped other customers.

Website looks good though and interesting product.

    Dear manuksh,

When a prospect lands on your site, he has a few basic questions:

    1) Is this site related to what I want?
    2) Is it a means to MY end?
    3) Is it worth my time to look through it?
    4) Am I convinced I will get a positive ROI if I spend my money?

I don't see any answers to these questions on your site.

You need to employ time-tested, proven direct-response methods to sell your product/service.

Please contact me by PM or email if you'd like more specific recommendations.

  • I'd pretty much agree with everyone else, but I'd say a clear and distinctive call to action is the most important part. You can go to a few more details after that. I'd say there's room for a video and a decent call to action button.
