Finding "Victims"/Interviews

Hey Warriors --

This is a bit out of the ordinary for the copywriting forum, but I'm essentially making a video sales letter/pitch for a product which is broadly in the category of "personal defense".

I think that a great addition to the video would be some kind of brief interview with a victim of stalking type behavior - the kind which seem to be on TV news every other week. However, I'm totally at a loss as to finding somebody like this who would take an appearance fee and do a "it happened to me, it could happen to you" (maybe an actor would be better, but that might be too fake).

Any suggestions?

You could find peoples stories on the net and then dramatize it. Or you could find news stories and then base your information off a news story. Paraphrasing could also work. Id use an actor, everyone does anyways. I dono the legal stuff youd have to check into it.

Try your local amateur dramatics group. Their always game for this type of stuff. Or try guru.com but they probably don't come cheap. Otherwise rope the wife in, family member, or a friend.

If you want to find non-actors with dramatic stories, then use HARO - Help a Reporter Out -at HARO - Help a Reporter Out â„¢.

That is what established reporters for major media outlets (newspaper, TV) do. It's free.

They seem to only accept established media outlets. I'll send them an email.

          Thanks Warriors!

The brilliant Azam Meo has this down to an art. 1. U do NOT hire a friggin' actor.......which not only destroys the credibility of what u are promoting it's right up their with "fake testimonials" a FTC wet dream.

    2. Get a Blog Talk Radio show or another medium to record.....and use "positioned access" and go where your target resides....it's really rather simple.

    3. Stalker Victim? How hard is it to find an organization that would gladly give up an interview for NO MONEY.........

    4. Call a local battered womens shelter: Hi this is Vince with "XYZ Associated Journal" (make it up if u have to) and I'm looking to interview someone who can provide some insight into stalking from a real life perspective.......so we can help out others etc......and we'll be happy to mention your organization to our readers/ listeners if u can help us out. etc etc. GET IT?

5 YOU CAN USE POSITIONED ACCESS TO GET ACCESS TO ANYONE...! Need free legal advice on this or that. Rinse Wash Repeat the steps above...TO CONNECT WITH ANYONE.

Everybody wants to talk about themselves.

Why in the hell would u want an actor? And keep in mind a legit interview can be spun into a press release that leads to your product.

    peace, Vegas Vince
