Prospecting Email--Whadda' You Think?
Like most people here, I know a fair amount about what's required to move a site up in the ranks. I'm going to launch my career by contacting small business owners and offering SEO and copywriting services. Following is a mailer/email that I've put together and I'd be interested in your thoughts. My wife says it's too wordy but John Carlton has convinced me that if they find it appealing they'll read it. Thanks in advance (and in arrears) for all your help.

1. It needs to be found.
2. It needs to be viewed.
3. It needs a call to action.
The Problem
Very few websites accomplish any, much less all three, of these tasks. The reason is really pretty simple--site owners do not know how to promote their sites, they don't know how to write for the Web and frankly, they don't want to. We're business people, not web masters. Or as my dentist so succinctly put it, "I Don't Want to Think About Websites--I'm a Dentist!"
The Solution
Find an expert and let them manage your site for you...after all, you have a business to run. You hire professionals whenever you encounter a job that you are unwilling or unable to do yourself--plumbers, painters, electricians and people to handle your advertising. Your website is important to your business, it's your cyber storefront, and it deserves to be administered by a professional--that's me.
Why Me
I am an Internet affiliate marketer. That means I sell products that others have created from a website I've built. And in order to sell those products I have to be real good at driving traffic to my site, keeping my visitors there with engaging and informative information and getting them to take action toward purchasing the product I'm featuring.
Something Free From Me to You
I'd like to do a website analysis for you...no charge, no obligation. I will determine how well your site is adhering to the 3 essential criteria above. I will then provide you with suggestions, if necessary, as to how we can work together to get your site earning its keep. Now I know what you're thinking...
"This is just a ruse to get in my store and start selling me a bunch of services I don't need!"
Well, there's an element of truth in that. Yes, if you purchase my services I get paid...kind of like if I were to purchase yours. But I lost a job as a car salesman because I just couldn't bring myself to use those heavy-handed closes that car dealers are famous for. Honestly, you'll find me pretty easy to get along with.
If you feel my free website analysis might be of value go ahead and pick up the phone right now and give me a call, or just reply "contact me" to this email. Don't wait or you'll talk yourself out of contacting me; you have nothing to lose and you just might put some extra cash in the bank account!

P.S. Though I've been honing the craft of website management for over 3 years on my own sites, taking my show on the road is a fairly new venture. That means that until I start getting real busy my services are going to be priced well below what the guys in the expensive offices charge.
P.P.S. If you ask your current webmaster or advertising people if they can do this stuff for you they'll probably say 'Yes'. That's true, they can. They just can't do it as well as I can.
P.P.S. This from the dentist mentioned earlier: "Jerry asked if I'd mind if he tried to get my site on Google's first page for the term 'XYZtown Dentist'. It took only 3 weeks to move from page 3 to page 1. He's kept it there for over a year and now my site is the #2 result on Google's first page."
