What's your best seller?

Good afternoon folks,

I'm interested in current sales trends within the copywriting community. With this in mind, I ask you the question...

"What was your hottest selling copywriting service in last quarter?"

For Example:
- Autoresponder Emails
- Sales Letters
- Audio/Video Scripts
- Product Descriptions
- eCommerce Copy
- Landing Page Optimization
- Etc...

Hope everybody has an excellent weekend!

  • Hi Chris,

In "Steve's Copywriting Empire" the hottest selling copywriting service in the last quarter was a tie for inter web sales letters and squeeze pages.

The clients loved the copy and are now frantically driving traffic to these epic masterpieces (competing with everyone else desperately trying to get people to their inter web sites - has there ever in the history of advertising been such an unbelievable hassle to get people to read an Ad?).

Sadly, they didn't wish to partake in a guaranteed circulation and readership in their local newspapers, which would have brought an instant response (to be fair there would have been the media cost of the Ad).

Now moving on from the "hottest seller," lets look at the "hottest response"

*Warning extremely low tech information forthcoming - all devoted inter web only fans look away now*

A long term client asked "Steve, would you be kind enough to write our monthly Flyer for October - (thankfully they asked for this in September) - usual terms plus your cut on the sales."

Of course I said. And created a phenomenal Flyer (black on white, good quality card, no graphics or pics, just stunning copy with an irresistible "October only" special offer).

5,000 distributed last weekend - (I know, the 1st of October was Monday - but the crack distribution team - 5 students delivering with laser precision to local households asked if they could work that weekend).

Anyway I phoned the client on Wednesday and the orders so far are in excess of $9,800. The first phone call at the office was 9.12 am on Monday morning.

Actually that's not true, the first live call was 9.12, there were already 3 calls on the answer machine.

    Cool for cats.

That would be a great theme for an ad promoting your flyer/general offline services to the online crowd.

(And when's your guide to creating flyers that convert coming out?)

  • Cheers Andrew and Ewen, so good that you agreed to look at non - tech stuff.

To show my appreciation I would like to dedicate this next post (my 1000th) to the -

  • I do my utmost best to use that theme when the client asks for any inter web stuff (lol).

I would so much like to do "Steve's Phenomenal Flyer Guide - How To Write Them So They Bring You Sales Within Hours - Sometimes Minutes..."

But if it was on the inter web nobody would ever see it - because I have no earthly idea how to drive any traffic.

And the only "list" I have is for shopping.

The best way to promote them is - with Flyers.

I wonder if I could get the crack delivery team to pop them in everyones Pm box...

Imagine trying to explain it - "Well, everyone it's like a sort of virtual letterbox, you don't walk up the driveway, you wander around the inter web highway..."
