Very interesting. I think this is an RAS thing. The RAS is a mechanism in a person's brain which weeks out the images or information which are most present in a person's mind. I bet a lot of people land on a site looking for "pricing," and if they can't find it right away they get frustrated and leave.

I've done this myself. The information can be right in front of your face, yet your RAS doesn't pick it up right away. Goes back to the first job of a copywriter:

"Join the conversation that's most present in the customer's mind"

...and you just gave me an idea for a training video. Thanks

Think of the time you bought a car and you start noticing other models and colors as yours,
their slight variations, their dents, number plate numbers how clean or dirty they are.

All things you wouldn't of noticed prior to buying this car.

Ask a person to notice all the people in a crowd wearing pink,
      and they will find them.

Yes it's the good old Reticulating Activating System.

The military used this understanding to build a heat sensing missile.
It would continually self correct it's line to reach it's target.

Never thought of this insight related to this web page split test.

      Thanks Seth.
