I was reading Michel Fortin's blog and he mentioned Mr. Subtle's technique of animated headlines:

Basically, it's a longer headline broken into segments, or a series of headlines, that are made into images that change like a slideshow. Anyone try this method?

Also in that blog post Michel mentions ToonADay where you can get free cartoons every day. You can use them on your printed material and website (see license).

    The first second or two is what the original looks like (it's not animated) followed by my redesigned/animated headline.
