Using Statistics... How Many is Too Many?

How many statistics is too many?

There are tons of great statistics for some marketing services I provide that I just can't refrain from listing. However, I don't want it to look like I'm just listing a ton of stats and look "all-talk."

I'm thinking of listing a few of the most powerful statistics and then perhaps have a link that will expand to display some more statistics if people are interested. I should probably limit what's visible, but what about the extras?

Also, how should I cite these sources? I've seen people do a few different ways.. is there a "proper" way?
  • [Statistic here] (Name of source)
  • [Statistic here] [1] - then link the source at the bottom

Use only the statistics that support your sales pitch.

42.7 percent of the people using statistics to prove something make them up.

You're wise to ask the question.

Most people find statistics boring. And as I'm sure you know, the instant your reader is bored, well, say bye-bye.

When quoting stats to show the power of your product, stop at three. One or two is best, but because people are predisposed to like things in threes, you should be okay with three as well.

Let's go over to The Prince Of Print
to see what he has to say on the subject aye..?

      The Gary Halbert Letter

Then people find infographics easy to read and take in.
You could have one of them made up, or grab somebody else's
to back up the point you are making.

      Enjoy!

Thanks for the suggestions. How should I cite them?
