Guide To Writing Persuasive Emails?

Hey Copy warriors,

Is there, a guide that discusses how one can write..persuasive emails to their list?

I know, the break down of salesletters, quite well. Is there a guide, that gives..the breakdown of writing emails?

Thanks!

I know one well-known copywriter who basically just takes his sales letter, breaks it down into chunks/pieces in chronological order, and uses that as his email sequence.

So, you start at the top of the letter, then just work your way down, using almost the exact copy that's in the letter for the emails.

Not sure how well that works, but I know he's used that for a while now.

Study Matt Furey and Ben Settle, Perry Marshall and Eben Pagan.

    Those are usually pretty valuable.

Here's an email template I've personally come up with and use for many of my niches.

Back when I was an affiliate for a lot of other marketers, this template often helped me win many of the affiliate contests in my niche...

The same principles of writing persuasive copy apply
to emails. The media is different so you would want
the emails to "sound like an email". So you can
be more direct in addressing the reader and be
a little 'lighter' in your conversational tone.

An email is also typically shorter than a sales letter
and works in tandem with a longer sales letter. so
you may not want to sell the product in the email
but sell going to the real sales letter. So it
becomes the first step in the 2 step selling process.

Most marketers use emails to build relationships
and this would be your ongoing series. A selling
series would be more direct and hard hitting,
whereas the longer (newsletter) series would tell
your story and build empathy with the readers.

As for guides you have products from Matt Furey,
Autoresponder Madness (Andre) and Net Words
by Nick Usborne is also worth the read.

Jay White also has a product sold through AIWA
    as well.

Write a love letter to your girlfriend
or wife for practice using good old
      fashioned pen and paper.

      That'll teach ya.

I like Jimmy Wales' 3 steps:

1: Start by stating clearly in a matter-of-fact way what you do
2: State clearly what you need them to do for you
3: Tell them clearly what's in it for them.

That's for corresponding with people 1v1. If you're doing something a little more salesy, you can add more flourish to it.

You'll never be super persuasive on your first try. Do your best, then read it out aloud to a friend. Solicit negative criticism. Which parts are boring, confusing, repetitive? Cut those away.

    Good luck!

If you want to learn how to write great emails take a look at this site
    autorespondermadness.com

It's owned by a Guy called Andre Chaperon and his course takes you through email writing from A to Z. It costs money though.

Can't remember how much it costs. I took the course 2 years ago and I know he's upped his fees since then.

This one hardly gets mentioned around here.

Maybe because he and his clients aren't marketing to the make money crowd.
