Hi,

I hope this is the right place to post - please feel free to tell me to go away if not.

Anyway, I was just wondering what you spend (if anything) on advertising as a copywriter. I've been freelancing for nearly two years and have yet to spend any cash and have done relatively well through social media/email marketing.

Has anyone had success with ads? What sort of budget do you allocate to advertising and is the ROI worth it?

    I used Adwords monthly for outside the box keywords.

    Sometimes I'll advertise in newspapers like The Marin IJ (I've had success there.)

    Banner ads every once in a while.

    I'll throw up a Warrior for Hire ad here and there.

    I invest anywhere from $100 to $1000 a month. But most of my work comes from referrals and repeat biz.
