Always stayed clear of Copywriting - time for a change.

Hi, I'm new to the Warrior Forum (I've been lurking for years though) and figured it was about time to sign up and join the War Room to see what I've been missing out on all these years.

Anyway, I've always made money online with CPA and PPC traffic, so I've never really bothered with copywriting too much, aside from learning how to write a decent email or two.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a copywriting tutorial, book or course for someone who already has some experience in IM. Not only that, a copywriting course specifically for IM (I've tried offline before but it's too much effort, I'd rather sit on my backside all day and work).

I've checked the stickied threads and the list of recommended products is overwhelming, is my best bet really just to pick one like a lottery and get reading?

Thanks, Matt.

    Matt,

There's a million and one ways to fall down the copywriting rabbit hole.

    Start at this one:

    The Gary Halbert Letter

And buy this $10 book at Amazon:

CA: How to Use More than 100 Secrets of Ad-Agency...CA: How to Use More than 100 Secrets of Ad-Agency...
Probably the most entertaining entry point possible for the cost of a movie ticket.

But be warned - there's no going back once you've taken the red pill.

    Best,

    Brian McLeod

Gary Halbert is a fantastic place to start.

Also pick up any of the classics you haven't read yet: "Tested Advertising Methods," "Think and Grow Rich," "How to Win Friends and Influence People," and "Scientific Advertising."

It really depends on who resonates with you personally. (Sounds kind of deep)
I'll put it another way. Who you won't fall asleep to while reading their stuff.
For me, when I started out, it was anything Carlton and Halbert. It seems like anytime I started nodding off they would reach through the page with a bat and wake me up.
Now that I'm dug in and consume anything 'copywriting' like a junkie; Caples, Collier, and Hopkins are great reads.
      Newbie?
      Might be kind of tough.

If you take to it ... you're on a journey of a life time!

      Good Luck,
      Kevin

Yes, get a hold of Bob Serling's, "Power Copywriting For The Internet"...

Forget about reading all those Halbert Letters for now. Learn the basics in an organized manner first.
