Copywriter's Roughs Recommendations

I searched through the forum and didn't see any topics or discussions about creating "Copywriter's Roughs".

Right now I create mine as I need them but do any of you have tools or swipes you use to create your roughs?

Or do you not use "Copywriter's Roughs"?

Look forward to some discussion about this area of the business.

Having read this forum, and my fair share of copy writing books.. I've never heard of the term "copy writer rough" what is that?

It's a visual or sketch drawing used to show a client what the copy layout may look like.

Steve Slaunwhite talks a little bit about it here.

    Balsamiq Mockups

It's easy, fast, and never fails to impress the client.

      Andrew,

Thank you for your quick response. If I may ask, how often do your clients request a rough or do you automatically make it part of your submission?

        It's part of my process.

As soon as I start on a job I keep my client up to date with where I am.

So when I mock something up I'll send them a copy.

It overcomes the complaint a lot of business owners have when working with freelancers - no communication. And it prevents me delivering a finished project only to find out the client hates it.
