hi all,

here is my problem. i have an ebook that is selling (non IM niche) at a steady rate.

i have a sales page that i put up at the start of the year and a list of keywords that i target. i get a great majority of vosits from generic search traffic and have used my seo skills to rank in the top 2-3 for pretty much all of the keywords i am targeting.

despite doubling my traffic in the last 5 months my conversion rate has tumbled from 1.1% to 0.55% over the last few months.

my traffic is coming from the same keywords so musrt be just as targeted. i think the problem may lie with my copy.

where should i begin reviewing and refining my sales copy?

any help greatly appreciated

Sometimes products sell well despite the inherent flaws in the sales page....is your Sales letter powerful enough to work in these times of economic downturn? In these times it's hard to convince people to buy things, especially, those products which offer leisurely entertainment...I'm a practicing copy writer, offering to re-do your current page for free...let me know if you need help...cheers

I think you need to split the problem into two parts.
    1. Assume the traffic which is coming in after being doubled has the identical psychographic and other characterstics as earlier. Since the sales copy has remained the same it implies the change is due to some other factor altogether. Consider the possibility of a competing product in the market. Someone has taken your e-Book reverse enginereed it given it a better title and is making hay.
    2. There is some sort of seasonality which is functioning.
I feel you should start mooching around to find your e-books brother.

    Could be anything.

    Maybe it's the recession!

In any case, it's difficult to tell without actually seeing
    the sales page.

If you' ve ever been tempted to buy from a sales letter/web page ... or better still, you've actually bought from it, then keep that letter 'coz there's something in there that works!

Then simply use the structure and adapt the copy for your own product or service and you'll have a winner.

I did exactly this recently for one of the UK's top marketers and he pulled in over £1,000,000! needless to say I got paid quite well for that one!

It's going to be hard to offer advice on your sales page if you don't actually post it!

The drop in conversions could be anything. Can't say what it is... but the solution is almost certainly in improving your sales page.
