Last time I posted this somebody later sent me a PM that they read the post, applied, got the gig, and it accelerated their career. Cool beans. Well, I heard they are hiring again at:

WANTED: DIRECT RESPONSE COPYWRITER – ColinCopy.Com

As per last time, I know nothing about it and am not connected to them. I do know they are well-regarded in the direct response copywriting world.

I also heard Jon Benson is looking for writers. That's all I know, so you have to figure out how to contact him and determine what he wants.

Both of these gigs are for experienced people. I wouldn't contact them unless you have a strong track record.

    Hey Joe,

I think Kevin Rogers sent out an email to his list today, mentioning that Colin and Jon were looking for writers.

From what I could tell... Kevin said to get a hold of him, by replying to his email, and that he'd set up something with Jon.

I didn't want to post the entire email, but you could probably get ahold of Kevin at 60secondsaleshook.com and mention that it's about Jon and the copy gigs!

    Thanks Joe,

One "funny" item for me was in their summary:

An inc 500 “Fastest Growing Company” built in the tradition of “old school direct
response principles (a la The Suarez Corporation) is looking to add a full-time copywriter
    to their team.

"old school direct response principles (a la The Suarez Corporation)"

may make 7 Steps to Freedom II a bit more relevant to someone who doesn't necessarily want to be a free lancer.

The benefit package and salary, 80 to 150k a year is inline with what many of the remote direct marketing companies offer along with a full benefit package. The magic 6 figure for a freelancer doesn't cover insurance, so that is an expense. Just saying, not everyone is on the freelance track.

I'd like to point out this company founded in 2008 grew to 11million a year using OLD WORLD direct marketing. Kind of rare for a person to START a company these days using old world strategies.

Also, I believe Ben Suarez, who still uses old world technique, would consider his company to be state-of-the-art when it comes to online and Internet marketing.

I'm thinking of submitting a product to this Nashville based company, an Anti-GOLD promotion, which may (or may not) find an interested reader there.

When the stuff hits the fan, even the affluent can't eat gold. The question is, will they find some suckers with food to trade them for their gold? Not in the prepper market they won't.

Again Joe thanks for this, I think several people here would be well advised to get some agency and or a JOB with a company like this one. Course, you gotta knjow a thing or two too.

PS. May be time to dust off the ol Doom and Gloom site, wonder if they have an affiliate program? Gonna find out.

ALSO, if you like pancakes, this is the place to work in Nashville.

Thanks, Gordon, yeah I think a lot of people lurk this forum and someone will benefit from this info. It's funny how one post can make an impact. It might be something small, like Alex once posted about Fireshot for Firefox, and now I use it 100x/day. Or it could be something like when Vin Montello, whose name is straight out of the Sopranos, posted something several years ago which led me to Fast Effective Copy, and that program has taught me tons.

The other thing that occurs to me is we see often a lot of posts from new people wanting to know how to get clients or how to get more work. Heck, if just work on your own stuff and can show results, there is a ton of opportunity for you, and these gigs are just two examples.

      Joe,

Yes, the "hidden in plain sight" gems are often the most useful seeds at this sub forum.

As for the copywriting job in Nashville. Consider this young company, only 6 years old went from start-up to 11 million a year, now employs about 10 people and are adding staff. The questions a creative would ask

What other products could be offered to their customer list?
Maybe a cooking device for the food or a cookbook or a barter thing.
Since they are not married to one idea, what other types of products would they be interested in?

I see a young hungry company operated by someone who knows and understands how rapidly his business could grow, and that explosive growth comes from finding products, but more importantly, finding REMOTE salespeople, a good one worth her weight in freeze dried food.

The INC 500 list should be must reading, especially the fastest growing marketing and advertising companies, many of which will be LOOKING for copywriters.

So, see not only the writing opportunity here, there are scores of companies, new and old, who could become your clients if you take the time to learn some basic fundamentals about businesses.
