A simple question that made me some $$
Maybe this is teaching you guys how to suck eggs but some might find it useful.
I was at a copywriting seminar last year in the UK and the host of the affair was making some serious money (like over a million offline) by striking up deals with businesses who were struggling to offload their stock.
The businesses were selling things like cars, music equipment and general high ticket items.
Rather than pitching them on his services, he would just ask what sales goal they had in mind and then he would ask....
If can deliver that, what will you give me in return??
It might then be cash or goods or someone's first born child.
the point is...
I've used this question for online and offline clients and it can work quite well.
It tends to kick the dreamers to the curb and makes the client focus on how you are added value in the equation.
it can also lead to nice back ends.
The other idea here, is that you don't always have to get paid in cash when dealing with offline businesses.
In one deal, this guy got 50 Les Paul Gibsons.
If you like your Guitares...you know that's a sweet deal!!
