Hey guys, quick question for you. I just wrote my own copy sales letter. It is 3 pages. The problem is, I have no idea how to do the graphic design and layout of the sales letter. I realize it is critical to get this part right. Who does this type of thing and where can these pros be found?? Thanks in advance for your advice!

3 pages? In word or html? Is this for a website? Or something else?
Do you know what graphics you want/need? Where will the sales letter appear?

There are scores of graphics people, but they take instruction from the copywriter (or should). So, can you clarify what your needs are?

It is 3 pages in word. Also, it is intended for actual paper sent in the mail and will be available on the website. I do not know what graphics I need, hence the desire for a graphic designer. Thanks!

OK. So, will it be a stand alone piece? Just the letter? So there is no lift letter or return or order form, correct?

The answer depends on your target, and many don't need graphics. Will graphics increase response? No way of knowing without testing. Is it a small universe of targets? Can you test it with a few dozen letters?

Also, if you have two pieces of paper, then why not use all four sides? Gives you more space. Is it a product or service? Products could be a graphic on one of the sides of paper...what is the call to action?

Do they call you? Is it a lead generator? The reason for the questions is...

because it will determine what kind, if any, graphics you need.

Start with what you want the recipient to do...then determine if graphics will be useful.

Back Surgeons almost always find a reason to cut.

Graphics people, who don't know anything about direct response letters will or could sell you graphics you may or may not need.

Collaborate with a graphics person with Direct Marketing experience, and even then, you make the decisions. A poor or unrelated graphic could dramatically reduce response.

It will be a letter sent along with the lead generation CD and book. They will also have the option to fill out the form or call an 800 number to buy the actual product. It is an informational product just for dental hygienists. Thanks for your response. I appreciate it! Where can I find somebody who has direct marketing experience?
