How does coaching work?

I just finished the simple writing system and I want to take my copywriting to another level so I am thinking about getting coaching. My question is how does that usually work? Does the coach give me something to write about and just critique my writing or is there something more involved? Or do you only getting coaching when you have a real project to work on?

    Coaching works in several different ways... each coach has a different style. But in my experience, the "coach" usually has you study some copy writing fundamentals, techniques, then moves into 'advanced' techniques... also has you write a couple of 'practice' sales letters, then moves to marketing your copy, and critiquing/coaching you on your first few pieces of work. Then you're on your own. I can't speak for every coach/mentor out there, but the ones I've had followed that format.
