I'll make it short - what interview questions are "must" when hiring sales copy writer or web content writer? Please, help

        More than a Gobstopper worth of truth in that, though.

        In the past, I've tried to use some of my best content writers to do sales pages - with disastrous results.

        The psychology of selling is something that few people can masters. Which is of course why good sales copy writers are paid buckloads of cash for what they do.

    1. How long have you been copywriting?
    2. Do you have a portfolio I could look at?
    3. Do you have references I can talk to?
    4. Will you write my copy or do you use junior writers?
    5. Have you written for my market before?
    6. What is your present schedule like? How long before I see the first draft?
    7. In what form will I receive the copy, text document or HTML?

      That's a great list. I would also like to know some more specific questions I would need to ask to get, should we say, "assurance" that the person is reliable or get an idea on the quality of work he/she does upfront? I mean looking at previous works is good, of course, but how can I be sure I will be receiving the same of better quality every time I order? Thanks! (I know there are no silver bullets, and I will eventually have to try )

        There are no guarantees of quality you'll receive, but most copywriters
        have a 'review / rewrite' period where they will work with you just
        in case the copy doesn't convert well out of the starting blocks.

        For example, my standard is 45 days after delivering I would work
        with the client to make adjustments if necessary. For my higher
        paying clients I give more time for obvious reasons.
