I used to do this about two years ago and it was really profitable. Unfortunately everyone has caught on to this and the competition is super steep.

My advice to you is to find a product that has not been picked up on by many people yet. I have a couple of products I can still profit with but for obvious reasons I can't say what they are here.

Stay away from all of the heavy competition which I have found to be in higher ticket electronics like HDTV, tablets, laptops, game systems, etc.

Also, when searching Amazon for products, try looking for products past page 15 in the search listings. Most people don't go that far in when they are looking for viable products to make money on. You can find a lot of gems higher up in the listings sometimes past page 25 or 30.

Also, look for products that are 50% off or more, but look like they are really worth the original price. A lot of products that get marked down 50% or more are actually only worth what they are marked down to. You have to find the products that people are really looking to unload and so they have marked them down 50% or more but you can tell that they are really worth the original price and not the sale price.

Don't give up. It's gotten harder but it is still a viable way to make money if you can find the right products to sell.

Look for products in the $7 - $40 price range, they tend to move quicker. (easier to fork out 7 bucks than 100 bucks).

There is nothing wrong with this technique. Yes, lower priced products do sell quicker, but when you are doing this type of drop shipping it's much more difficult to make a profit off of any products cheaper than $35, and here's why:

Amazon ships free to the lower 48 states (it may be all 50 states now, not 100% sure) on most orders over $35. This is an advantage for the drop shipper because you can charge shipping & handling on eBay and have the item shipped for free, pocketing the shipping costs as profit.

If you're like me and you want to offer free shipping on eBay to make your listings look more attractive, you can do that as well. What I normally do in that situation is take whatever the Amazon shipping cost would have been and cut that in half and then add that amount to my "buy it now" price on eBay. I then set the shipping to "free", and submit the listing for 30 days. Sometimes this amount can be the difference between an average amount of profit on a sale and a good amount. A few times when I've screwed up the figures that amount saved me from actually losing money on the transaction! Hey, nobody's perfect!

You might also look on places like liquidation.com for items to sell.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

Find a hot seller and then list what he has sold recently but redo the titles specific in keyword to what you are selling. Ebay now shows the items at the top that have a title closer to what was typed in the search and not what is ending first.
