Converting when you're a Wholesale eCommerce site with Required Sign-Up

Hi there. We are a Wholesale Large Format Printing shop with a wholesale eCommerce store. We use the 3DCart platform for our store: Digital Wholesale Large Format Printing - Mesa | Firefly Graphics, Inc.

We cannot have our pricing view-able to the general public because we work with distributors as well, who have to sell our products to their clients. They don't want their clients stumbling upon our website and seeing the pricing themselves. This has been a huge issue with traffic, of course!

Any immediate suggestions for my site? Have you had trouble converting when your customers are required to sign up before purchase? Any suggestions to combat this?

Thank you.

I am not familiar with 3D Cart but I do know that Magento has this feature. You can have different prices for different groups and require certain groups to sign in before seeing rates.

Thanks, but I'm not looking for a retail side/wholesale side. I'm mainly looking for suggestions on how to make sure customers KNOW they need to sign up for an account.

I looked at your site. Every product page clearly indicates that prices are not shown until you login to an account.

Is there a problem with this? Are customers reporting that they don't understand this?

I don't know if this is possible for you, but what about asking for less information?

Your asking your visitors to fill out a good sized form. Not surprising it's not converting well. Can you ask for the bare minimum? The more they have to fill out, the more they won't. I dread forms like that and avoid them myself.

But maybe it's not possible for you. Just a thought

Why don't you just list the "full retail" price you would sell to the general public and have a separate button to "Sign In for Dealer Pricing" right there. Currently a dealer has to "shop now"and then "add to cart" just to be taken to the sign in page. Seems like unnecessary extra clicks for dealers.

I don't know if you're an ASI or Sage supplier, but it looks like you're set up to do business the same way. I worked at an ad agency and sometimes we would send our clients straight to our suppliers site to choose what they liked knowing that they would never be able to see our discounted costs. We'd just tell our clients don't worry about the pricing shown, we'll get a discount for them.

Distributors are going to expect to pay considerably less than retail anyway so they should't be bothered seeing a retail price they know they're going to beat.
