How to create an unsubscribe link in Gmail !!

Hi there,

This is Deepak Kumar Nayak. I am a SEO expert by profession. I have to send a large number of emails to get customers for my business. It is very true that my intentions are not to Spam anybody. I was also reading the CAN-SPAM act 2003, which allows me to send emails to customers. I am putting all my contact information in my signature. However, I also need to create an unsubscribe link so that people those are not interested in getting further emails from me can opt out by clicking on that link.

I am using my emails sales@seoanupama.com and marketing@seoanupama.com to do my marketings. Both are integrated in Google apps. So using Gmail to send my emails.

Can anybody help me out to let me know how can I create an unsubscribe link for my marketing campaign??

Thanks and waiting for your replies eagerly.

Regards.
Deepak.

The easiest way is to create a third address, unsubscribe@seoanupama.com .

Then you can just tell people to send any message to that address. Of course, you'll have to manually process the unsubscribes, but it sounds like you'd have to do that anyway.

      Hello Sir,

Thanks for your reply. However, this method does not seem interesting to me.

I have seen "unsubscribe" links, in emails, when anyone clicks on that it will redirect to a page where you will see a message like "you will get no more emails from us". I want to create that kind of thing.

If they can create, why can't I ??

Certainly you can. All you need is a team of programmers working for hundreds of hours to create the framework.

If you really want this sort of functionality, you're going to either have to purchase a self-hosted autoresponder, or you're going to have to sign up with one of the autoresponder companies such as Aweber or Getresponse.

There really isn't any other option.

Sorta like wanting to drive. You either buy a car, or build a car. But you have to have a car.

P.S. I know that's not the answer you want... but I really don't know of any other way to do it...

          Dear Mr. Ben Holmes,

I appreciate your answer. However, I want some more suggestions from you.

Let's say, I create an email account like unsubscribe@seoanupama.com and get responses from people about not to contact them anymore. Is there any way, which I can do in my email settings so that my email server will prevent me to send any more message to the person who requested me to unsubscribe him ??

Thanks and please share me with your ideas.

You're talking about a feature built into virtually every commercial email service but virtually no personal email service. By using Gmail, you've put yourself in the second category.

Gmail assumes that if you put an email address into one of the 'to' fields (To, CC and BCC), you want that person to get your email. There is no functionality built in to screen that list for unsubscribes.

I'm assuming that you are doing a copy/paste of a list of addresses into one of those 'to' fields. The only way to remove addresses is to manually delete them.

Or pop for a real service, either third party or self-hosted.

There is a more "techy" way to do this manually, but you don't sound like it would be appropriate for you.
