After they submit their email...

I'm brand new to online affiliate marketing, and after losing a little money with PPC selling clickbank products directly, I want to get into building an email list using an opt-in landing page first, and then direct them directly to the clickbank product. I have no free e-book/report as of yet. My question is...what is the best subsequent method after I have them submit their name and email-

1- Direct them to the product directly after they submit the email form and click to continue
2- Send them the information in the first auto-responding email, so they have to check their email first, and then click on my link from the email.

I know from my own online behavior, I will put in a BS email and name just so I can click further to see what it is. By having them have to check their email, this will let me know that they actually check this email and that it's real and that they are responsive. That way my list are emails that are real. On the flip side, this is adding one more step longer to the process and I'm worried that I might lose sales because of that.

What do you all think is the better of the 2? I would appreciate any insight, thanks!

Send them to a Thank you page which you can set up through a professional Auto Responder Service.

On that TY page give them the option to click on a Link that leads to a Product that could truly help them. ( OTO if you are a Product Owner )

Also, to get them to NOT do what you do with a fake email......in your squeeze page tell them the freebie will be delivered 'straight' to to their Inbox. And in the Submit field put ' Your best Email '

I agree with Discrat.. I use a OTO page as a Thank You and then email the subscriber to a download page to get their free product.

Its a really good idea if you can use your own product or some really good PLR that you take the time to customise rather than simply re-directing them to an affiliate offer.

By using your own product you can start to filter out the freebie seekers from the buyers. If someone buys your OTO then you can put them into a buyers list. This list is far more valuable than your leads list and should be the area you put the most focus on building.

Make sure your OTO is truly an offer. What I mean is don't make this a really expensive product.. it could even be as little as $1 simply to help you split the wheat from the chaff

    all the best
