Aweber also allows single opt-in.

Just set confirmed opt-in to "Off".

I'm not sure where you got the list, but make sure you clean it before you import it if you're not requiring double opt in.

Most people won't report you but if you get a bunch of bounced back emails and no longer exists errors you will raise flags.

I use Getresponse without double e-mail.
In the past I look for this option and I remember these alternatives:

- mailchimp
- 4Dem
- jmailer pro

I think that Aweber has this same feature. Getresponse is the same.

You can use both single and double opt ins.

In the past I've used MailChimp, jMailer Pro (really terrible), rapid mailer, Mandrill and GetResponse is still my favorite. Aweber has been known to shut down IMers accounts in the past which is why I never even tried them.

DAP has a setting in the Products page where you can specify if you want it to be double- or single-optin. No need to tweak the form code for this purpose.

Aweber offers the single opt-in option. Just make sure that you change it to single opt-in BEFORE your first subscriber. Otherwise it won't work.

If people are signing up via API, you'll need to call Aweber and have them change it for you.
