Simplero As An Alternative To Ontraport/Infusionsoft

Curious if anyone on this forum has had experience with Simplero as a replacement for Infusionsoft as an all in 1 CRM, Marketing, and Sales tool? Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,
Brandon Reynolds

    Hi Brandon

I've been a happy Simplero customer for several years. While I have never been a InfusionSoft customer, I have helped a few people in the past tweak a few things, so their interface and feature set is not a stranger to me.

To give you some kind of context before I talk about why I love Simplero, I've been in the IT industry for 15 years (of those around 6 years in the e-learning industry), had my own company since 2007 and doing online courses since 2011.

To fully understand the differences, you need to look at where they originated from. InfusionSoft is a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system first. That means it's not an autoresponder with the same person on different lists, but contact first that is then decorated with information as you learn more about your lead or customer.

Simplero is a shopping cart for selling informational products first. Now that might not sound too good. In the beginning I compared it more to 1ShoppingCart (only much nicer looking with better features ).

It also have a feature called Spaces that allows you to build membership sites directly from the system. As it also have autoresponder functionality, it's basically a fully fledged marketing machine.

This is why I usually recommend it to everyone that wants to sell information products, as it does everything within one system. Email marketing, billing and product delivery in form of membership sites. All at one low (much lower than InfusionSoft) price.

The second reason is that you can actually setup everything even if you don't have a background in IT. When you buy something like InfusionSoft or Ontraport, you actually need someone holding your hand (you can't buy InfusionSoft without getting help from a "consultant") .

Now this is ok if you have a big company and have the time and energy to invest in this. But if you're a small one man operation, it's a deep learning curve.

Simplero is..... well simple... Even though it has tremendous powers under the hood (just take one look at the flexible pricing engine that lets you create standard prices, secret prices, campaign prices, expiring prices, recurring billing, splitting payments in multiple rates and more). This is because Simplero is a shopping cart first (although one optimized for selling info products, it's not geared towards physical products - although possible).

So what has been the major Achilles heel compared to InfusionSoft and Ontraport?

    Automation!

The ability to tag contacts and differentiate your marketing based on that.

I haven't tried Ontraport, but the tagging in InfusionSoft is awesome.

Up until lately (actually within the last month), this was lagging and a reason why I still had an external autoresponder.

But this has changed. First came tagging, and now you can create workflows that are triggered when certain events are happening (like someone subscribes, clicks a link, buys a product etc).

This has totally changed everything, and I'm currently migrating all my contacts into Simplero and tagging the s.... out of them

When that is said, this is still a new thing in Simplero, and InfusionSoft does have more options here, but for 95% of all marketers out there, I'm sure that Simplero's offering is more than enough.

Also with the integration of Stripe makes charging people insanely easy. You can literally charge your customers within 5 minutes after signup. Everyone who's ever tried getting a payment gateway and merchant account, will certainly appreciate this

So does Simplero has any shortcomings?

Of course it does... Their autoresponder functionality is not up to par with the dedicated autoresponders, so don't expect split tests and advanced segmentation (although you can now use tagging for a lot of that)

Also, their landing page builder is awful, and I always use LeadPages instead. So see the landing page creator if you need to build a quick registration page for something.

Now I recently did a review of Simplero over at my blog (with screenshots), but notice that I wrote this before automation was rolled out. So I might update the article at one point.

Also on Simplero's own blog, there are several interviews with people who changed from InfusionSoft to Simplero, and their reasons.

And last I would like to mention, that you can sign up completely FREE of charge with Simplero. You first have to pay, when you want to bill someone or send out an email.

So you can basically signup and try everything out yourself without getting your credit card out.

Please notice that I am an affiliate for Simplero and the links in my blog are affiliate links.

But when that is said, there affiliate program is a new thing, and I've been a happy customers for years, and recommending it for all the years as well

    Hope it helped....

I'm also a simplero user (I started recently, though) and am finding that it does everything I need.

There are a couple of things that I want, mostly prettiness thing like better landing page, more fonts to choose from in their spaces, etc... But overall I am very happy for the price and see myself staying with Simplero indefinitely, I just hope a few of the pretty features will happen sooner rather than later!

Infuѕіоnѕоft – otherwise known аѕ соnfuѕіоnѕоft – is widely tоutеd аѕ bеіng the lеаdіng еdgе of online mаrkеtіng ѕuрроrt ѕоftwаrе, оr уоu might also hаvе uѕеd Ontraport (fоrmеrlу OffісеAutоріlоt), аѕ I hаd. It was a great аltеrnаtіvе tо Infusionsoft, which hаѕ a really hіgh entry price point.

But both оf thеm are еxреnѕіvе when уоu’rе ѕtаrtіng out, аnd аrе SO complex that for mе аnуwау, they were just much mоrе than I wаntеd.
