Telling a Story in a Landing Page

Hey guys, what does everyone think of Landing Pages that are structured in the form of a long story with a pretty basic template? The long story engages the viewer (You have problem x, here's how you solve problem x with y, etc). The story builds up to asking them to opt-in to take the next step in solving the problem that they're dealing with. They're put on your email follow-up list and passed some fun freebies to warm them up for a sale!

It's pretty much what Andre Chaperon teaches in his courses, I've tried using it for a couple different niches, but unfortunately haven't had much luck getting a good opt-in rate. My opt-in rate honestly wasn't any different than when I was using more of a "blind" squeeze page, haha.

    Hey man,

Andre Chaperon is awesome, and has great stuff.

Have you thought about sending him this question as a support ticket.

He would be the best man to answer these questions.

You may just need a few tweaks, here and there to bump up conversions.

    Hope this helps

    Nick

Such landing pages do no wonders other than letting users take a glance and walk out right away.

Users like to see believable content with both pros and cons backed by a highly trustworthy website or an app.

I believe it is always wise to start a website or a blog rather than having a single landing page to promote products.

if the people you are targeting are loooking to be entertained by a story i say go for it. but if your people are looking for a solution, i say give them a quick win.

That's great but the idea behind an opt-in offer is to entice people to opt-in. Your "story" should not only engage readers but leave them wanting more...right away!

For a dedicated opt-in offer, I never vary from: Headline - Sub-head - Bullets of benefits - Strong CTA. This formula has been proven effective since long before you and I even existed.

i prefer short clear landing pages with a good call to action, that way users don't get confused and don't need to read a long story.

I guess that type of landing page would only increase your chances if your audience its use to read "long stuff" like a story in your landing page. A niche where many features can be named and detailed without losing reader's interest.

Also, I would like to ask you, were you able to measure how much time your visitors spent on your landing page? Maybe I'm wrong and the "average" (whats average online for us anyways) visitor actually reads more than I think

Mostly every business use landing page to achieve their goals and to get potential prospects. So they can further nurture such prospects and convert them to customers.

On a landing page, create such CTA buttons which will help them to understand your tool or product more.

Shorter landing pages have always worked far better for me.

Even Frank Kern and Ryan Deiss have talked about how much more opt-ins you get from a short simple landing page.
