Long story short. Building a landing page, collecting subscribers. Then sending those subscribers to my funnel.

However, the problem that is really holding me back from doing it is that. Do i need to build an actual website to do this? I have a domain & hosting. My domain is literally a blank wordpress on it with plugins that i built my own landing page/ optin in page.

I just seem a little confused. Should i have an actual website with a home page, about, contact me etc? Or is that not really needed?

I would prefer just to have my landing page/ optin in page and that is is, i don't want to have to go throug hthe hassle of builing a website. I wanted to create a custom thank you page to subscribers but it seems i cannot do that either unless i have a nice website built otherwise they will be redirected to an ugly plain wordpress plain site?

I need some guidance, please!

Thanks
Michael.

Well, you could just set up a landing/squeeze page, but I don't think you'll see great results, unless you have an ace up in your sleeve.

The reason I'm saying this is because people surfing the net are more likely to listen to and buy from people who have some content on their websites, not just a thin website clearly designed to make money. That's the thing a lot of aspiring marketers don't get: if your website looks like it's designed specifically to make money off their visitors, it's going to turn off a lot of them.

I would recommend fleshing out your website, yes. A one-page website would turn me away from buying anything immediately.

Where you ultimately want to be selling something and expecting them to put in their credit card or paypal information, it's definitely better to give the buyer some reassurance. Have information on there that will settle their fears. Product information, delivery, payment methods and security - reviews too.

Buyers need to feel secure in order to buy.

Of course, there are still buyers who will punch their details in on a single-page set up but they'll only fool for that once. You may be completely genuine, but single pages give off a shady impression. Its what scammers use, so i'd stay clear.

I am totally agree with above fellow warriors. You have to build your credibility to make money, but as you said it is not easy. I think there is no alternative to hardwork.

You can create landing page and get subscribers, but why should they buy from you. So, you have to build relationship with them. Give them quality content.

By the way you can create landing pages, thank you pages at any autoresponder, that is not big problem. If you have acquire any autoresponder service then check it. Watch tutorials and you can create it easily. You don't have to build any website for that.

Based on your first sentence you first need to understand how the funnel works. Traffic to your well optimized landing page. Optimized so you enter their details to get their report or just some value. They are in your funnel at this point and as they go through the process they end up or are presented with a paid offer. Usually a lower entry fee price. This help monetize your funnel for front end commissions. In the end that leads gets dropped into your autoresponder where you can share the benefits of your front end offer re-market to them.

The Internet is a big place so the chances of somebody coming back to you again is very low. You are leveraging your marketing efforts.

    I agree with the others.

In theory, you could set up a site that is only a landing page and redirect the visitor to a URL on your domain that only shows a custom thank you page. Then drive paid traffic to it. Personally, I think that'd be a recipe for disaster but I've never tried it.

I think it would be a poor business decision and it would take away a platform that you can use to get return visitors and build your relationship if you don't have a website.

I don't really understand the "hassle of building a website" thing. If you're trying to work online and think building a wordpress website - something that can be done in a day and maintained in just 1-2 hours a week - is a "hassle" then you may want to reconsider if this is for you.

Seems like you're looking for a short cut to go paid traffic ---> opt in ---> funnel ---> profit (hopefully). This takes a lot of knowledge, skill, and testing to pull off.

Your website is your first impression that your potential clients will get of you.

It tells them not only about your product but also how professional you are and how much you are committed to investing in your business.

Personally, I think a landing page without much content is a bad idea if you're looking to create a good impression which will in turn lead to customer loyalty and of course, sales.

While they're not completely ideal if you're planning on scaling up at any point, template builders provided by companies such as GoDaddy and Wix are an OK option to get some content and a few pages on your site. While it's not the best long term solution it is a short term option to solve an immediate problem.

They're pretty cheap and cheerful but they do the job on a basic level

    Michael.
    So what's the problem?

Installing WordPress and creating 5 pages takes a few hours. If it is hassle for you, don't do that.
You gather other people's emails? Good! Landing page and thank you page - this is what you need.
No need to create a wesite.
