Website Promotion

Hello,

A Newbie here! I am new to Affiliate Marketing. I would like to promote my affiliate website. Please suggest some good ideas to do that (may be something that will help me in the beginner phase).

I have also learnt that there are some free software /tools available that can help me make a database of customers to send them emails (I think this becomes a form of email marketing). Shall I consider doing it? (I am a bit skeptical as I have visited few forums that say email marketing is dead for affiliate programs)

Share your views and experiences. Thanks in advance.

    This a very broad question, making it not easy to answer in this forum. So I will go with the basics of any business on the internet:

    1) The real business in any website is their database, nowadays is people's data plus people's behavior data. Email marketing is not dead.

    2) The second thing you need to know is your audience. That will define what, where, when and how to do marketing to them. Who is your client? what they do, where they go, what they like? etc...
