Sure Way to Get Started as Affiliate

So I posted this same information on other topic here on the forum.

The best and fastest way to start your affiliate marketing business is the following:

Step 1: Choose a lucrative niche for affiliate marketing.
Step 2: Build your email list on that niche.
Step 3: Make money by promoting affiliate products to your email list.

Your email list is your first and most important asset in this business. That is why you should stay focused on collecting subscribers.

I believe Affilorama's AffiloBlueprint teaches you exactly the same thing, but in more details. Please correct me if otherwise.

What you, guys, think of this way of getting started as affiliate?

Do you know any other proven ways of starting successful affiliate marketing business?

I would ask some others questions, before starting out.
    What`s your budget?
    Where to advertise?
    What are your goals?

It`s important to be aware of the details and to progress in your marketing.

This isn't the case with me and my 90% clients. I have 80+ clients and I work for them consistently. Almost all of them are affiliate marketers and promote 'Amazon' products.

I agree with your first step, choosing the lucrative niche. But, I don't agree with building email list. And, no one in my clients, as far as I know, focus on building list as well. They promote products directly through their 'review' websites.

Are they successful? Yes, of course they are. If they are placing orders for $1000 or $2000, it definitely means they are earning a lot.

The 'key' think I noticed among all of them is they promote high-paying products. In other words, they promote expensive products. Therefore, their commissions are quite high too.

I'm not saying that people can't earn by building list. They can, and I indeed know people here who think their list is an asset, but this isn't the case with me and my clients.

I did earn with list, but I'm a million times better without it.

Since, for me, if you want to buy something, you just want to buy it. You don't want to jump from one email to another or wait 2-3 days to see the best offer.

I think for most affiliates building a list is key.

It's what will make or break the average affiliate marketer.

I have been promoting affiliate / CPA offers for almost 17 years, all 100% by email.

No other method would have come close.

Well yes. But the devil is in the details. How are you going to go about building that List ?? Solo Ads, Optin form on Blog, Social Media, Forum Marketing etc..etc..

It is easy to identify what can make you successful, but it's another thing to take Action and do it and actually succeed

Thank you all for your advice.

Regarding the question how I am planning to go about building the email list:
I am actually building subscribers list by running solo ads and driving visitors to my landing page at https://incomepattern.com

But still I'd like to know what other people are doing to succeed as affiliate marketers besides using email marketing.

  • The three steps you mentioned make perfect sense.

What are you looking for exactly? It looks to me you already know the overall strategy to follow as an affiliate marketer.

One tip I can give you is to promote products / services that pay high commissions.

Do you think it's better to sell 100 $10 courses or a single $1000 program?

I'm on board with the list building, but I'm struggling my arse off to build mine. I'm not getting results.

I've tried a FB ad that lands on my newsletter page. Insane amount of click throughs (for my budget) but NO conversion.

I despise pop-ups. I know people say they work, but it seems like a grudge opt-in method. I would also like to know what type of quality those pop-up sign ups are.

Should I try a pop-up on my site?

Then, I heard that I need to give subscribers something special. I'm not in a game where I can give "special" or "insider" info away.

I write insanely long product reviews. The only thing I can give people is valuable, true information about a product. I save them cash. That's it.

Any ideas or suggestions on how I can build my list?

    • In what niche are you in?

Considering that you write product reviews you could create a lead magnet that suggests the 3 top products in your niche (with a bit of imagination anyone can create a lead magnet in any niche).

Then instead of driving FB ads to your newsletter page drive traffic to your landing page where you give the lead magnet. Saving cash is definitely a good reason for opting in.

        Hi,

I review anything that makes your life easier, or is claimed to make your life easier. It's mostly non-electronic and mostly outdoors.

I'll think about how to create a lead magnet. It might take a little more than imagination

Yes, saving cash is. I should probably lay that on thick too.
        {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[11186136].message }}
        • Creating a lead magnet seems harder than it actually is.

It can be a one page product checklist. I create my lead magnets using Canva, it's free and you can get one done in less than a day.

An alternative is to get someone on Fiverr to do it for you based on your specifications.

Mmm... Fiverr sounds like a good idea. Might give that a bash.

I could never get my fingers around Canva. Not too fond of it.

Thanks any case. You've already got me thinking about how to get this going. I'm working on an idea or two.

    Hi there,

I created my lead magnet myself based on the knowledge I already have regarding affiliate marketing. It took me around a week. That is an ebook I am offering on my landing page.

I drive traffic using solo ads, and conversion rate is around 30%.

Building an Email List is not about making instant profit or make huge profit, but it's about BUILDING AN ASSET.

It's the most rewarded thing cause building an asset makes you survive in the long term to google's algorithm , fb bans, seo fluctuations, katrina, tsunami etc...

i mean once you have a strong relationship with your list, it's yours.

If you want to start as an affiliate with Email Marketing you can easily do it also for free, just studying.

The steps you provide are correct but they have to seen more in depth: how did you find a correct niche?

How did you build a good squeeze page?

What's your autoresponder sequences is about?

These are few of the aspects you have to take in consideration and care.

    and a lot of others.

It's not a quick-rich scheme email marketing, instead, is a Business: you will become Online Entepreneur, ot a rich jerk...
