Solo ads or Shoutouts

Hi Warriors,

I've got an e-commerce business and I sell pet products, dog products to be more specific. I have a Shopify store and I've been using Facebook ads to get sales. In the beginning it worked really well and I got some monthly subscribers for my treat box subscription.

The problem is after a month or so the Facebook ad died. Is this normal? The only thing I can think of is my ad got seen my everyone I wanted to target and once everyone seen it the ad died down. Is this what can and does happen a lot to people not just me?

So now because thats not working I was thinking about doing solo email ads or shout outs. I don't know much about shout outs or how to set them up or how to know if it will be worth will paying for a shout out. I have some experience with solo ads but not in this market.

I also only want to email customers in the UK if possible, can someone recommend anyone I can use for UK solo ads which could work will with my product?

Thanks in advance.

My experience has been that everything needs to be fresh. Stale, dated ads, content etc ... stops working. I have a tendency to be very date conscious when looking at anything online. Always looking for the latest, state-of-the -art. Not interested in yesterday's news.

Not sure if I would go with Solos for this, as I do not think it's necessary. If you ever get to a point where you have tapped out traditional media, then maybe a thing to consider. In my e-commerce experience (millions in sales in video game accessory niche) what we did designed specific campaigns for each and every item on our site (about 4000), and the hot sellers we would even design different variants of landing pages for.

We would take our campaign from ad-words to MS Adcenter (Now Bing), Yahoo (Now Bing), and various smaller PPC. After the PPCs were expanded as far as we saw benefit trading time for, we then went into setting up shopping feeds for dozens of shopping comparison portals like bizrate, shopping.com, nextag, etc, etc.

Instead of Solos, we would offer immediate savings on their first order right then and there, all they had to do is actually complete their order (this lowered our cart abandon rate by 23.7 percent). And of course that means 23.7 % increase in subscriber rate to our buyer list. We also had a non-buyer (inquiry list which was much larger). We would get people on the inquiry list by simply offering subscription to codes on various savings for different items of the category they showed interest in.

Solo=last resort in my opinion in regards to e-com. For info sales, yes solo can be wonderful, but I would steer clear (at least for now) for e-com.

I wish to you the best and I hop that helps shed some light on some mysteries

    Best Regards

Hey op, if you are intent on trying a solo for this, I would recommend you check out the solo ads testimonials FB group. It's awesome and you can find some really good vendors on there. Because of the testimonials, it makes the best rise to the top, you'll find a pretty good variety of vendors for different niches.

You get lots of real time data on people's results with a vendor's solo, super helpful FB group.

    Hope this helps you out!

      Hey R0b,

Thanks for the plug bro. I am the founder of that group

And yes, you can get some amazing solos for your offers on that group. Also, if you need any help, you can contact the admins and they will hook you up.

    This can happen.
How large was your audience in Facebook?
How many different ads did you have?
Have you tried adding new ads?

That could happen with Facebook Ads, but there are ways to fix it. You can keep testing and tweaking new ads and also keep on experimenting with different audience variations. You just have to keep testing and tweaking with facebook ads!

If you would like to try some solo ads, I would suggest checking out https://udimi.com - that is one popular site where you can find people with email lists.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I will try and learn more about Google adwords and Facebook marketing.

Is it worth trying to get Instagram marketing to work? I'm not really clued up on Instagram. Any good courses about?

Do you do all your Instagram marketing through Facebook? Is that how it works?

    Thanks

You can always reach out to non-rival competitors in your niche and do joint ventures. Are you using Adwords, Bing Ads, and Yahoo Gemini? What about advertising on different blogs and forums in your niche?

I can't send PM because I only have 3 posts.

    What is Gemini?

    Thanks

Go for shoutouts. If you work with influencers on a specific niche (dogs) I'm sure you'll get good results with it. Do your own research first as there are many accounts out there who only have bots as their audience.

You might benefit by getting JayKay Dowdall's Evolution training course which I am using to use FB ads to build an audience first and then re-targeting the audience with a different FB ad to go to my landing page (your Shopify site?)

Solo ads directory like Directory of ezines is a great way to short cut your time to find.
