Questing About Building Own SMTP Server

Dear Warriors,

I am building my own smtp server, setting all correct
SFP, DKIM, DMARC, rDNS are set properly.

mail-tester shows 10/10
self-tested on a few of my own email (generic/non-generic) all inbox

since it is a new server, I follow the warm-up sequence eg 50/day, next 100 slowly double up.

I found that the first few day results are good, after that it falls into junk already.

the result at mail-tester still shows 10/10
Ips are clean without blacklist.

Up to now is about 1 month testing, no good result. Do I require to continue to try a few months in order for my Ips to gain reputation?

Any comment?

    hi,
perphas you need to make some actions in your emails like: mark as read, opens and archieve. it will increase the reputation of your ip.

Mail tester uses spam assassin to test mail with. The score is only somewhat relevant if you are sending to domains that are using spam assassin. Even then, the settings are highly unlikely to be the same.

Do you have seeds accounts to test your inbox placement for the domains that have the highest percentage of users in your list? Do you know the domain make up of your data?

Are you warming up IPs with opener/clicker data?

    What are your stats?

Qout of curiosity, why did you choose to build your own SMTP over going with an ESP/SMTP service?

My list is cold list, my campaign is on cold email.
as I know most ESP don't allow such campaign, perhaps you had any alternative which suitable my scenario?

Now days, Big ESP uses Engagement Filtering, if your campaigns has low engagement (open. click, read,..etc) it will most likely be filtered.

in this case, you'd want to use your most recent engaged email and re build your reputation. the key here to keep mailing. don't stop even if you having some low ratio. keep sending and deliverability will improve.

You'll need a better mailing server to build your emailing career. Gone are the days where warmup works. IP and Domain blacklist is very common now
