Will Web Push Rival RSS/Email Marketing?
Hey Warriors,
I caught wind of this trend a few months ago and feel like there's enough steam behind it now to open a debate. Forgive me if this topic should be explored elsewhere...I had trouble choosing from the existing threads
Long story short, there's this company called Roost that specializes in Web Push Notifications. Check out the site link above if you don't know what Web Push is.
I think this is gonna be a huge channel expansion play for Content Marketers everywhere. The idea of getting your message directly to a subscriber natively via their desktop/mobile devices is an impressive proposition for online businesses.
Here is a write up for the project in TechCrunch. They're being funded by Y Combinator which is another reason I think this is gonna snowball.
Any thoughts? I would love to see this Twitter/RSS hybrid take off
