Hi Warriors,

I have heard some good arguments for and against the "churn & burn" method of list building and was curious what people out there thought... Is this a good method or would building a relationship win out every time.

Do yourself a big favor right now and forget about churn and burn. How would you like to be on the receiving side of churn and burn? No, i didn't think so. Build a quality list with a quality gift and drip quality content onto your list and the money will follow. Good Luck.

If you want to be able to make money from your list long term, then you want to stay away from the churn and burn method and develop a relationship.

This is assuming that you will be recommending affiliate products and perhaps even products of your own as your main source of monetization.

Churn and burn is only good if you have a consistent source of new subscribers. But...its probably more effective to not burn out your list and actually build a solid, relationship with them. You'll most likely make more money

If I was you, create a blog and about me page at
the blog detailing why you are doing this for them and how you can help them.

Invite them to get to know you in the first few emails.

    That works well for me.

I have found it a good idea to use some of the advanced tools in most autoresponders and have a persons details automatically transferred from one list to another when they make a specific action like buy a product. This way you can build a quality list of high opens, clicks and buyers, whilst at the same time you can build a separate list for promoting third party solo ads to.

One of the best ways will be to look for a free gift having quality content to give to your subscribers to entice them to opt in to your list.

I know there are people out there making money with churn & burn method but it seems that most would lean towards relationship building.. Is it that marketers do not want to admit that they use this method??

Offer more useful content than ads in emails. Out of the hundreds of email lists I am subscribed to only a handful offer a good amount of useful content with an occasional sales pitch or a simple signature on the bottom of the email. Most of the rest just shoot ads into my inbox, needless to say these low content emails don't get opened and I unsubscribe to them.

Getting to subscribe is the hardest part, don't let your hard work go to waste by alienated your list. Keep them happy and you will be happy.

It seems logical to use this method so why would the churn and burn method be used and be successful, I don't quite get it...
