Anyone using plain text emails over HTML?

Hey guys,

Is there any way I shorten a link with plain text emails in aweber?

So instead of saying check this out : ugly aff link

I want to say check it out here

Can I only do that with html?

We do use a lot of plain text for follow up and broadcast emails.

When we want to send out an affiliate link, we either use a domain to mask the affiliate link or we use the Simple URLs plugin for wordpress to create a unique link from the main site that is cleaner.

Well, I know AR''s like aweber will send out both a text and html version of each email.

So that helps you out. you just have to check and make sure the text version matches up... sometimes things get screwed up a bit.

I use Aweber and all I do to hide my affiliate links is to highlight "click here" or whatever I need to hyperlink and then click on the hyperlink icon. You then enter your affiliate ID and that's that - job done!

    Hope this helps

Why not have a mix? Make your emails look like plain text but still keep them HTML to track opens. And have the full URL hyperlinked, plus the text hyperlinked. Best of both worlds
