As title suggest I have had some feedback from my followers that some of my emails are ending up in the "junk" folder.\

What can I implement to avoid this?

Have conducted several searches that yielded nothing.

You want to avoid spammy words in your titles and in the email as well.

      See a list HERE

Also in the first email to your "lead" or customer, maybe remind them to place your email address in their contacts list.

In the very initial email when you introduce yourself and after you talk about how your emails will change their lives forever .....you need to highlight in bright yellow to "Please Whitelist my Email to Avoid getting lost in the Spam folders".

Yes these are all good solutions like asking peopel to whitelist your email address and not using spammy words.

Another good thing is to engage with your subscribers so you get a high open rate.

The quick answer is to avoid sending "junky" emails.

Most of the junk/spam filters work on the same premise. They look for certain footprints that spammers leave that legit emailers don't.

For example, most legit emailers send either plain text or both plain text and html. Most spammers skip the plain text. So if you send your emails with just html, you're almost guaranteed to land in the junk folder.

The same goes for certain words. Or certain emailers. Try sending a bizopp ad from a hotmail account. 99% chance it's flagged as spam.

You'll learn more than you want if you start investigating spam filters and email scoring.

    Good luck.

A big thanks for the Mail-Tester.com tip - definitely helped me determine how worried to be about Aweber's input on my spamminess level.

Use a reputable company, such as Aweber or Getresponse, and always try to keep your spam score below five.

Also, using link shorteners in your email will skyrocket your spam score.

    Hi,

There are many ways so I'll give you 1 good one here to save confusion:

    1. Use your own UNIQUE and personalized "Sent From" email.

Instead of using an email from Gmail and such.

I don't mean your auto-responder service here I mean the "From" email
you use when you set up your emails to go out as broadcasts or as
    a follow up sequence.

    So instead of from:

    yourname@gmail.com

    It will be more like:

    yourwebsite@yourbusinessname.com

    Hope that helps.

Because a lot of spammers use gmail and alike to bombard us with dodgy
emails so a lot of them get marked as spam.

    All the best,

    Gavin

As others have mentioned don't send junk spammy e-mails!

Also below I have list a few ways that can help increase your deliverability rate.

1.) Always make sure the subscriber is a opt in subscriber
2.) Send emails from your @domain.com email instead of free email
3.) Don't include lots of images in your email and colored html text.
4.) Always have a back up plain text version of the emails you are sending
5.) Always send emails from a reputable third party company ex: Aweber , GetResponse.

Follow those steps and you will have no problem worrying about deliverability.

You should be thinking of getting people to want to open your emails, so focus on delivering good value!

Here are what I do to avoid emails going to Junk folders:

    1. Send to only double opt in lists
    2. Good servers configuration with SPF, DKim, rDNS, etc.
    3. Always use spam checker to check spammy words in mailers
    4. URL masking - this is the key feature not seen at many other email marketing service provider
    5. and so on...

    Good luck

      Good list, except for #1.

By the time your email reaches the point that an individual email client is sorting it into a folder, there is nothing in the header to identify whether the opt-in was single or double.

The real key is somewhere in #5.

Send emails that recipients look forward to getting. They will either take steps to put your email in their folder of choice, or their email client will learn that they open emails from you and sort the emails into a non-junk folder.

Here are some points you must keep in mind while sending an email:

        1. Avoid Language Flagged by Spam Filters
        2. Don't Send Out All E-mails at Once
        3. Provide a Clear Way for Subscribers to Unsubscribe
        4. Keep Up-to-Date E-mail Addresses
        5. Ask to Become a Contact
        6. Put Thought into Your Subject Lines

        Hope this will help you!

One additional way to avoid your emails as junk is to engage your followers. By asking them to reply to some of your mail, by providing free content or software thereby encouraging them to relate with you. Because if your followers don't engage with you for a while your emails will land into junk.

I would suggest avoid using spammy words first of all..you can get a list of these words by searching for them on google...Next, make sure the email authentication filters like SPF,Dmarc and DKIM are passed and finally, avoid having a lot of images and html text.
