How to get single optin Getresponse accounts

Sorry that should have been a question not a statement but I have been using the JVZoo method of opening getresponse accounts that are pre-approved for single optin campaigns using the api to upload leads.

Unfortunately it looks like they have now disabled that facility and I am unaware of how else to get these single optin campaigns without going through the compliance manual review. I am not averse to this but it takes days rather than minutes to achieve the same result, so could anyone could advise on whether there are any other ways of doing this?

For anyone not aware of the jvzoo-getresponse you can go here for more info: https://www.jvzoo.com/get_response

Cheers!

    Hey there,

I had a similar issue when i signed up to lead pages. I had a single opt in until I pu my lead page online. Then it went double opt in when I was right in the middle of a solo ad being launched - so I was screwing. Yes I know that there is a whole debate about single vs double optin and I dont want to get into that now.

Anyway, I digress... I had to go though gestresponse support and mail an address asking them to make my campaign single opt in. You have to do this for each campaign that you route through a third party.

They responded to me in a day, so pretty fast. I had to link to their privacy policy but after that it was all good.

    I hope that helps.

    Thanks,

Yeah, I know that manual review is always an option it just takes longer that way.

Can I ask what reason you gave for wanting single optin? Always find that a bit touch and go for whether they approve you..

      Cheers

    Sure,

I think the two biggest things were that I showed them a complete e-mail I had sent to my subscribers to evidence that I wasn't just burning and churning - and also I made it clear that it was obvious that they were opting in to my mailing list.

There are four questions they ask you - and I think those two responses were the corner stone of my being accepted for single opt in.

Yes you are right on that, they want to be sure you are mailing optins not 3rd party data.

      Thanks for your input

    Hi,

I believe that GR->JVZoo deal is the only way to get single opt-in (apart from manual review).

I know your question is about GR, however I just went through the process of manual approval for single opt-in with another major service, and they approved it straight away. Asked a few questions, but was approved same day.

If you are working with Getresponse and Leadpages, all you have to do is create a webform in Getresponse then copy and paste the html code into your LeadPages Integrations. This will allow you a single opt-in.

If you go with the automatic integration, you will have a double opt-in.

What about importing data via api?

I thought that all you had to do to get single opt-in on GetResponse was to uncheck all the subscription types under "Enable confirmed optin" under the permission tab in the campaign settings.

@Pinay - that is for webform optins, if you are importing data via api then you have to specifically request single optins from compliance, who want to know the details of your funnel etc. Not an issue but just takes time, which is why the jvzoo solution was super convenient as it was one-click.

      Take a look at this:

hotmail is most difficult ISP to deliver to. If you are not subscribed to their JMR program or your IPs are not in their SNDS network, it will be next to impossible to deliver to hotmail.

Although , GetResponse offer single optin account, it does not relief you from your responsibility to come up with a clean data. If your bounce rate is above 5% or spam complain rate is is above 0.5%, they would still ban your account and delete your data.

I am not surprised to see GetResponse having problems with hotmail because of their data import policies. We allow import of data but we also have a cleaning mechanism that work in background. Without such list hygiene , it is very dangerous for any email marketing company , as uploaded data can be full of spam traps, old emails and honey pots. It is important you take your list hygiene very seriously if you want to have any success in single optin email marketing.

Last but not the least, having single optin account comes with a danger of people filling bad email data like xxxxxfsdfsxs123234@gmail.com, just to get access to your Free PDF report. Double Optin is a great way to reduce your bounce rate and always have valid email addresses in your list.
