How do you get more clients from your existing client base?

Hey warriors,

I'm not sure if this falls under the "Growth Hacking" category, but I'm finding some success with a service I offer (priced around $200) and I wanted to know what your best techniques were to make more money out of your existing clients, and how I could create a "loop".

Examples...

- refund $25 if one of their "friends" orders our services?
- actually, that's my only idea at the moment

I'd be interested to know what you did/what worked for you!

An affiliate/referral scheme as you mentioned can be effective. Other options might include upselling existing clients (any add-on services you can offer?) or a subscription-based model to generate some recurring passive income. It's difficult to be more specific without knowing what your service is.

You could set up joint ventures with other service owners that have a service that compliments yours.

You could add more products/services as an upsell or add a cheaper product/service to your $200 dollar main offer.

Got it. I was looking for something "more original" (no offense, I think most businesses do what you mentioned anyway ) but a referral scheme should be working for me. Upselling is already working well (it's the same service: a translation package, but in other languages, they test with one then order many).

Thanks a lot for your suggestions!

What you can do is offer a Bonus for every new customer, your customer brings or refers you to.

Maybe offer a Discount for future orders - or a percentage from the money you make off the new customer. Like a Referral Program.

This is almost like Affiliate Marketing LOL

You can also get very creative depending on what your services are. Maybe offer an Upgrade, or something Extra, etc. You get what I mean?

I personally would take the complexity out of what you are trying to achieve. If possible I would place a call to each of my current clients, wish them a happy holidays, is there anything they would like to see different in what you are doing etc etc. Make the call about them.. at the very end throw in the question BTW is there anyone that you know that may benefit from our services?"

Note with using the phone, you can slide the question in without the need to butter the bread with an offer to do so.

I think most are so busy trying to systemize and bulk all of their correspondence with customers that the personal side of the relationship gets lost. learn to incorporate that dynamic into your communications.. have conversations with your clients. This is exactly what the whole social thing is about, and even that has been lost to sell sell sell.

I think a referral program may work, instead of offering a refund, perhaps offer them $25 off their next purchase?

Speak to them to determine another problem of theirs that you can solve (and charge for it!).

Assuming they enjoyed their first experience with you they will be likely to invest in you again if you can solve another problem.

The great thing about this strategy, is that it is a "loop", if you keep providing value and they keep buying, it can go on forever

Deliver quality service to the client, they will automatically refer other customers to you. No need of any freebies. Works for me.
