Optimizing blog posts

I've just read a great article on Quicksprout about optimizing your blog posts even further.

For me it highlights something that I'm completely guilty of; I finish off a blog and publish it, tick it off the list and move on to the next thing.

The article contains some more suggestions for how to get even more out of your blogs even once the writing is over.

The crux of the advice is as follows:

*Post to your social media accounts
*Add a link to your previous articles
*Add a comment for discussion
*Send it to your contacts
*Ask an influencer to share it and of course
*Respond to comments.

Is anyone doing this regularly and achieving results? Has anyone got anything else to add to the list?

Here's the article:

First, conduct your research, keyword research is essential on a page. You simply have to provide a valuable content on a topic. Second use effective keywords throughout your post, it is important to place where they will have the most impact for humans. Third, optimize your image once you upload a photo to your blog, be sure to include keywords in the file coz its rich description of the photo.
Forth mention other with links when you mention another blogger. Include a link to the information you are referencing. It may also get lucky and receive a link back. Fifth, give readers the opportunity to subscribe to your blog offer viewers the ability to subscribe to your posts. This allows your blog followers to have instant notification of your latest posts. And last create connection using social media to broaden the reach of your blog posts.

I agree on that, make sure to have enticing content which will make your readers share it every time they go back to your page, and be consistent! You can't have a good set of readers coming back to you if one of your content is awesome while others are good as junk (sorry for the choice of word.)

Including images frequently is important too; readers love visuals! Also, add social share buttons to each of your posts. Social signals can give trust to readers and possibly even search engines.
