Will AI force you to adapt your business?

Awesome video about how AI is going decimate the workforce (including ecommerce stores) and force a lot of entrepreneurs and businesses like our's to "adapt or die".

Doom and gloom or legitimate concern? Thoughts?

"Adapt or die" seems rather grim, but I see your point.

I'm a believer in the need for a human touch in businesses (especially when it comes to areas that require a lot of creativity), but I do agree that AI helps make things more streamlined. Automation can do wonders for the workflow.

I'd rather come to a compromise--continue employing human employees but implement AI where it's most useful--than completely reject one or the other.

In a way, it has already happened to some extent. Internet retail has decimated physical retail stores, as they are able to offer lower prices with same goods. Internet retail has very little expense, as there are no store workers or store space rent. Michio Kaku explained in one of his videos, that countries who are able to provide intellectual goods in the near future will be the economically strong ones.

It is killing much of the grunt side of the industry already, and if you are not careful, you too will be replaced. I think it behoves us all to play close attention to how this develops and stay one step ahead.

Presence of AI in online business fields is only going to grow. Photoshop already uses AI to recognize background to remove it. It's already there in Gmail. What else can you think ? It is imminent. Just adapt yourselves to survive

Besides we've been using them for years what do you think Google and all the search engines are the algorithms....

Adapt is too generic word. What do you mean by adapting? Adapt what? Even without AI, we still need adapt.
It's not the problem of "adapt or die", it's how fast do you adapt with the changes.

This is where you appreciate the adaptability of the human being. With the change of times, we adapt and blend in. Having an AI in your business will surely make things run smooth, but it is not perfect as it will also eventually wear down. A mix of both will surely work best.

You do understand the fact that there is no AI accomplished till now that is fully functional and one can call as a complete AI right? The machines that run today are totally scripted!

I just wonder, what do you mean by this?

What can you actually call fully complete in this reality? What is capable of proving all truths about all things in this world?

AI is incomplete, like everything else in life.

But, if everything is incomplete, then AI must be completely incomplete. In this case, the statement that AI is incomplete is False, simply because it's True.

      Exactly.

Folks keep calling this AI but it's not. It's a typical IF/ELSE algo created by people.

Look at Google self driving cars, it's 2 dozen lidar sensors hooked up to conditional code (ex: IF/ELSE). The car is dumb as a tree stump.

If the car (AI [sic]) was intelligent it wouldn't be taking orders from people.

        I agree with this statement.

However, what if the machine could write its own programs and self-learn and share the information with other machines? Then I don't know if we could still consider them like dumb but they would adapt really fast to the reality facing them.

That being said, we can always adapt to a new reality and A.I (or call it whatever you want) won't be an exception. In fact, A.I will create new opportunities for creative people.

Change is inevitable and one must learn to adapt. I believe this will not happen in countries where the population is a lot but who knows. I have seen a lot of TED videos where major giants have already adapted AI.

With Nvidia going strong into enterprise AI with their $400k super-GPU that promises a "machine that writes programming code" this is inevitable. Either you adapt to the new rules of AI usage in every business or you will lag behind until your business practices become obsolete and you doom your company.

Nobody is installing a blank chip and magic happens.

Someone has to write the code to make an app write code. That's not AI, it's IF/ELSE (example) and anyone can do it.

It is a legitimate concern. Unless some solution like a basic income or similar is applied, everyone who is not a member of the tech elite (99.998% of the world) will be in trouble. Or be some sort of a modern feudal peasant equivalent.

AI is going to grow to a huge extent. We have seen industries like Automotive which is using AI and robotics for a long time and has cut-down all labor work.

Recent video shared by Google was a great example of how AI will do bookings for us.

BPO's will soon use AI-powered centers to attend customer queries.

I believe in next decade businesses are going to be completely transformed. Many industries will adapt AI to build better businesses.

BTW, thanks for sharing a great video.
