Has anyone used Supersponders?

I'm looking to get away from Aweber. With the recent hacking incident(s) and their lousy pricing, I just think it's time to move away from them. To go from 10,000 subscribers and $50 a month to 10,001 and $130 a month is ridiculous.

So I'm looking at SuperSponders - Unlimited Auto-Responder Service and it is much more cost effective, $12.95 a month for their unlimited plan. Of course, cost isn't the only consideration.

Has anyone here used them before or is currently using them? Your feedback is appreciated.

Well, Aweber is one of the leaders in the industry, and if they can be hacked, I surely wouldn't trust a site that can't even create (have created) a web page that formats properly.

Greg, I realize any site can be hacked. That is kind of the last straw, that's all. Going from $50 a month to $130 for 1 more subscriber is a ridiculous price increase. That's the main issue.

I don't see anything wrong with the formatting on their website. What do you see?

I am using Firefox with a 24" widescreen and their site doesn't align properly. It looks funny (Cheap).

As far as costs go, that is a big step for that 1 extra subscriber. I would just chalk that up to the price of doing business, don't look at it as 1 subscriber cost me that much extra, look at it as moving to the next level of hundreds and thousands more customers.

And at that level, you don't want to cut corners and use a cheap email service that can't deliver as high of a percentage of emails and a company that doesn't work/correspond directly with the big email platforms (aol/yahoo/google/hotmail) to guarantee such a high delivery rate.

I don't personally know the backbone of that other company, but reading their onsite material leads me to believe that can't come close to delivering what Aweber or GetRespons can. I could be wrong, but it is my observation nd thoughts.

For now I'm very satisfied with Aweber. But yeah.. I can see why you would like to move to another autoresponder. I also think that Aweber is not great for huge lists.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, keep them coming! I was just going to jump over to Get Response, but then I thought I'd look around and ask around.

PS to Greg - I appreciate your response, but this isn't the only issue I have with Aweber. If they've been good for you, I'm happy for you, but I haven't been as fortunate. As far as chalking up the price increase to the cost of doing business, show me a business that doesn't try to control their costs and I'll show you a business that is wasting money. Why should I reward Aweber for MY success by increasing their income by $80 a month and decreasing mine by the same amount? That doesn't make sense to me.

Wizard Responders certainly has nice pricing. You say the support is good. The video makes it look like it's easy to use. So, how about the delivery rates? Are your delivery rates good?

Joe, in small print toward the bottom of their main page, it says it's $6.97 for every 10,000 after the first 10k. Very reasonable indeed.

I used to use this service and after checking, I see that may accounts are still active after 2 or 3 years - I had a freebie with them which allowed something like 8 different autoresponders.

They used to serve me very well and helped me build my businesses in the early days . . . I used the same responders at both Kiosk and PBP.

They used to have a free option - you could ask to see if they will give you one?

@ HerrmannTheGerman - Their prices look good, but the web sites sucks, it doesn't tell you anything (unless I missed it, but I don't think so). Do they offer mail merge? Do they work with the major ISP's to have their email white listed? Are the delivery rates good? How many autoresponders do you get? ...by the way, not having your subscribers double opt-in is not an advantage as I see it. Many ISP's reject bulk email that is not confirmed double opt-in. You may think 100 subs get your email, but in reality half or more may never see the email you send to them if you choose single opt-in

@ DogScout or Tsnyder - Traffic Wave looks pretty good too, but I don't see anything about whether or not they work with the major ISP's to get white listed. Do you know? Also, do they offer mail merge?

@ everyone else - thanks for you input!

      Hi Dennis,

Firstly, I would like to clear up some misinformation.... There is NO WAY for an ISP to know if an email received for a person is double or single opt-in. They can not, and do not penalize based on this.

Yes, double opt-in weeds out bogus addresses, which keeps bounces down, which keeps reputation up, which keeps deliverability up, but, single opt-in does NOT get penalized by ISP's, as they have no way of telling YET which is which.

      As for your other questions...

What do you mean by mail merge? Personalization perhaps? Like in First Name, Last Name, etc? If so, then yes, Imnica Mail does offer that.

Yes, we do work with all the major ISP's to ensure the highest possible deliverability rates.

Deliverability rates are on par with all the other MAJOR AutoResponder companies.

      Unlimited Autoresponders.

        Hi Richelo,

Hmm...I was told by someone that single opt-in and double opt-in emails have different headers at some AR services. You're saying that isn't true?

        Yes, mail merge = personalization.

I take it you either work for or own Imnica?

          Hi Dennis,

Some AR companies send single and double opt-in from different IP addresses to keep the reputation separate. We will be doing this at Imnica Mail shortly.

Still not possible for an ISP to distinguish between single and double opt-in though.

So, yes, we do mail merge then.

Yes, I am the CEO and founder of Imnica Mail.
