Raise your hand if you've been in IM at least a year and earned less than $1K to date...

If you've been studying, learning, following, working at internet marketing for at least a year but have yet to earn at least $1,000 to date:

1) What do you believe is the #1 thing that has held you back?

2) What is the #1 thing you feel you need that you don't yet have?

3) What is the biggest mistake you've made so far?

4) What is the accomplishment you're most proud of so far?

Even in my first year trying IM I made more than $1000. Probably like $3000 in my first year.

If you have yet to earn your first $1000, I will offer this advice.

Do not just "scale up" the method you used to make your first $1000. It wont always work that way. Sometimes, you just get lucky, and you won't see anything consistent come out of it.

Never made $1k in my 1st year though I stuck it out & am now doing great.

Initially information overload got to me, since found a success mentor & system to follow that works.

My top tip would be be patient, market your passion & take action every day when possible as the compound effect always wins through.

      Cheers

    Hi Brian,

I'm doing this to help you out because you're obviously asking for some good reason. I'm highly averse to revealing personal information such as the answers to your questions. But what the hell...

Now, I think there's a distinction between "being in IM" and writing. I've been writing since 2006 and have made 10s of thousands. Low 10s, but still respectable. I've done IM business in the past and it didn't work-out for various reasons. But I'll confess that I'd really like to do something in online business apart from writing.

    1) What do you believe is the #1 thing that has held you back?

Indecision, lack of confidence - collectively the things in the mind.

    2) What is the #1 thing you feel you need that you don't yet have?

Something to do in IM; an idea, a business to start and pursue.

    3) What is the biggest mistake you've made so far?

Leaving my 105k a year job in Dec 2005.

    4) What is the accomplishment you're most proud of so far?

Having endured extremely hard times in the past 7 years including being homeless for 1.5 years and I still found a way to keep writing. Going to public libraries, computer labs, etc. I have not given up or quit. I'm still writing, and I'm writing this from a library.

Hope that helps and feel free to carry the conversation. I'll check back.

Thanks, Ken for your refreshingly honest reply.

As you've surmised, I'm asking these questions purposefully.
