I have noticed more and more websites not displaying a 'BUY' button on their home page; thereby forcing a user to enter the 'product details' page before allowing the client to 'add to cart'.

Can anyone explain the reasoning or study behind this? I was always under the belief that we want the client to have the fastest option towards checkout.

Thank you.

    As per my understanding:

    1. To reduce bounce rate and to increase pageviews
    2. Buy Now buttons on home page make your page look like a typical sales page which buyers usually do not like.
