As seaweed is to soil. They both grown in soil.

A plant is to air as seaweed is to water.

Saltwater? That question is a prime example of how not to filter out spam. You're also going to filter most of the genuine people who try to sign up.

You should try to make another type of question that's easier to answer.

    Check out these ones!

What are the last 2 words in this question?
What colour is a blue apple?
What size is a ‘big’ dog?
If a piece of string is 1 foot long, how long is it?
What is the very last letter or symbol in this question?

      Ocean floor.

Obviously the point is to keep spam down. But that is always a trade-off. When you query real prospects with too difficult or confusing security questions, you are overdoing it. Keep it simple and easy for real prospects. Your question doesn't fit that bill.

You should also make sure there is only one correct answer!

Seaweed grows in the ocean, rivers and lakes. Some of it has roots in soil and some of it is free-floating "suspended" in the water.

    Seaweed.

Agreed. A question typically filters more than intended. Visitors would be more familiar with something like reCaptcha.
