    Welcome to the forum Augustus.
As you mentioned you have no money to start. I highly recommend you to get a stable job with a stable income.

Making money online/ internet business requires:
    1. Time
    2. Money
    3. Effort
    4. Passion

You always hear a lot of success stories from people making thousands, but behind the scenes they have been working very hard, and a lot of that is unseen.

If you really want to give it a shot, I would suggest you to start off with drop shipping where you find a supplier and setup an eBay store or something. This allows you to reduce your overhead and costs. People buy from you and you buy from others and they do the shipping.
Its just a matter of your profit margins.

If you want a long term stable passive income, you would need to invest some time into building a brand. Whether it is a personal blog, or product.

The costs will be the server hosting, domain, and a lot of freaking time. Building an online business is just like building an offline business. It takes time for your brand to be recognised and takes time to build momentum. I mean Apple only took off when iPods came out.

If you decide to create a brand, I would suggest blogging and affiliate marketing as it is one of the easiest and where a lot of people start.

Good luck on your ventures and feel free to drop me a message if you need help.

can you confirm that this advice for building a mindset is helpful?

Think of your mindset as a voice

How does a mindset manifest itself? It controls the ways you talk to yourself in the privacy of your own head. Recognizing this fact is the first step to achieving a growth mindset. "As you approach a challenge, that voice might say to you, 'Are you sure you can do it? Maybe you don't have the talent' or 'What if you fail--you'll be a failure,'" the post explains, adding that, "As you hit a setback, the voice might say, 'This would have been a snap if you really had talent.'"
Pay attention to your thoughts and see if you frequently tell yourself anything similar. If so, you've spotted the fixed mindset at work, undermining your potential for success.

Go to the Warrior For Hire section where you'll find members offering their services. Look at the threads in that section and come up with your own ideas on how you can use your skills to earn money. If you have none of the skills then get yourself trained so that you can earn money.

Absolutely, Make some money first so you can invest them to earn more and then reinvest. But here is some ideas -

Make a site or Squeeze page in your suited niche..Build your own list by Posting on Forums,Blogs and Social media. Then create your own product or Get some Affliate Product And sell them to Your prospects. If you have talent and you can do Hard work then this idea might work for you with a little invest. You can get Squeeze page for free for one month from Intapage,Leadpages,Lander etc,Godaddy offering the best opportunity ever Domain and hosting package at only $1/month. You can use Aweber or Getresponse for free or just $1 for first month.

So,If you have Talent and you can do hard work then you can pick the idea and Get started.

Take the advice posted above, the Internet is certainly not an easy place to earn money. Having no seed money creates further difficulties because you restrict yourself by having to consider looking what you can get for free.

Usually free services and tools have drawbacks, they tend to be of lower quality and in the case of web hosting carry unnecessary advertising.

You need to do research, start by looking at yourself, what skills and knowledge do you possess, what interests you, other making a living online. Is there anything in your skills and knowledge that you can use to earn money.

I started working on the Internet by taking a course in online marketing and working through questions like those above with a mentor to guide and coach me, but that cost a few thousand dollars.

Augustus, I've always been told, "it takes money to make money", and I believe that holds true on the Internet. However, there are a lot of free resources that you can use to get started, like Google's Blogger, YouTube, Google Plus, etc. Google offers a lot of free tools that you can use to get started. You can't go wrong if you stick with Google, after all, the name says it all.

Once you get your tools setup, follow alvinhy and mazzuca's advice and start a with affiliate marketing. If you don't know where to look, give Click Bank a try, they have some products that may be get your creative juices flowing. If this is something you really want to do, stay focused, stick with it, and never give up.

Good luck to you Augustus, there is a lot of potential with I.M. and if you have clear goals and realistic time frames, then there is great potential to earn a full time income. It is a steep learning curve though and I wouldn't like to think I was starting out with no income.
I spend many hundreds of pounds on seminars and products over the last couple of years, before I came across a good mentor and a system that got me earning.
You have come to the right place for great advice, so have a good look around and do plenty of homework - it pays in the long run.

    Hello Augustus,

I think this is the basics that you will need :

    1. Autoresponder - $20 month
    2. Hosting - $10 Month
    3. Domain- $10 yr.
    4. Free Gift /Giveaway - free or you could pay to outsource

If you can't afford the $30 or so a month then you might work at a job and do this in your off time starting out.

Very well stated! Although if you're really pressed, I picked up 3 years worth of Cpanel hosting for $9.95 on Ebay a few months back - I use it as a test platform. In case I'm not clear, that's a one time $9.95 TOTAL COST.

I wouldn't try to go cheap on the domain name (for example, using anything other than a dot com) or the Autoresponder. Use Getresponse or Aweber, and you'll never be sorry.

Be prepared to work at getting traffic (this means producing content... posts, ebooks, etc), or have a budget for paid PPC traffic.

Just my two cents worth! (Oops, take that back, I can get another click with that 2 cents...)

start by learning as much as you can on the topic and industry on this forum and other places online! If you had at least a part time job at the same time would help you because you aren't gonna get rich quick with IM, you need to self educate and try new things before the money will start coming in!

I would say to don't get sidetracked with all the different claims and offers out there. Find something and stick with it until you start making money. Then you should start improving on it. I started out with apps because I just liked programs and games in general. You should pick something that you actually are interested in learning so that it'll be a lot more easier to do it too.

I would suggest you find a normal job and do Internet Business on a part time basis since you don't have money to start at the moment. You do need some money to get started as pointed out by some people here.
It will not be easy to work a regular job and do IM at the same time but its the best option if I were you. Then when you are ready to get started remember that there are essentially 3 steps to success.

      1. identify what you want
2, figure out what sacrifices you need to make
      3. make the sacrifices

It's really hard to start making money on the Internet with no money at all, but it's not impossible.

If I had no money at all and I were starting today, the first thing I would do is to download as many free WSOs (Warrior Special Offers) on list building and niche site marketing. I would start with the free WSO "The White Hot List 2" by Lee Murray.

I would spend just about every waking hour studying these courses and within two or three weeks, I would have more knowledge than half the people involved in Internet marketing. The only thing I would be lacking would be experience at that point.

        So I'd get to work!

I'd get a free Mailchimp account and a free Google Blogger.Blogspot account.

I would launch a Blogger website in the "Internet marketing niche" and start blogging every single day about my journey to making money online. I would also set up an optin form on the website through Mailchimp.

I would get a Facebook account, a YouTube, a Twitter account, Instagram, and a Tumblr.com account and I would get busy posting articles, blurbs, pictures, and videos. I would funnel all my traffic to the optin and I would concentrate like a madman on building that list and creating a relationship with that list through emails and updated content on my site.

Of course, I would join as many affiliate product sites as possible. Think JVZoo, Clickbank, WarriorPlus, etc., and I would pick products to promote to my email list.

Then, once I was making a little bit of money and with a nice amount of experience under my belt, I would start thinking of helping other people and helping myself in the process.

I would create and sell my own products and I would start by selling them on the Warrior Forum!

I am new here too and echoing AugustusAIN's question with a twist. I have a full time job but have had a major life change. My kids were in a car accident in December and I need to make more money and hopefully have more flexible hours. I am not looking to work less hours (in fact I am expecting to work significantly more) just need some flexibility and more income. I have poked around the forum quite a bit but would appreciate some help with the basics. I am getting lost in the lingo and trying to understand how everything comes together. Can someone point me to a great tutorial or mentor to jump start me? So appreciate everyone's help.

great advise from above, but where there is a will there is a way, no money makes it that much harder, I would suggest a few things. these wont make you millions, but are a good way to learn how the internet works.

    1. Find a niche you are passionate about, cause after work you need to have the energy to work it

    2. find affiliate programs that service that niche and sign up as an affiliate.

    3. find free blogging sites (blogger, wordpress etc) & Social media sites and present an article or well written review about your niche (affiliate).

    4. Add a well placed links in the article or review.

    5. Blog on sites that pertain to your niche (affiliate program)

repeat as often as you can. Don't lie or add spammy content, give it your all, which is why I said pick a niche your passionate about.

hopefully you make a few bucks and enough money to afford the basic hosting and create your own website with wordpress or other leading CMS.

Dreams are meant to keep us from just giving in and just doing what is excepted, work hard, be passionate about what you want, stay in a niche you love and over time you will learn what it takes to make money online.

All the best Auggie (by the way my proper name is Agustin, my friends call me Auggie lol)

Before to start your online business you have to choose the right niche in which you will put the maximum effort into. It could be a blog about one passion. Or you can choose one of the most profitable niches in the internet. Make a quick google search "what are the most profitable niches?" and you will will have some ideas.

You've come to the right forum to learn how to start your online business!

I started my own business 15 years ago with no money. I had set up shop on eBay and sold products through a drop shipper. You could also build a website on Weebly (free service) and sell products or a service.

It's good to start a business in a niche that you're passionate about.

Another way to start with no money is affiliate marketing. As someone else mentioned, you could start a blog through Blogger (free), sell other people's products on the blog and make commissions. Here are a few affiliate networks to check out:

    * Clickbank
    * Commission Junction
    * Shareasale
    * Linkshare

Since you're on a budget, you'll be spending a great deal of time marketing your business on your own, but there are many ways to market for free including social media, article marketing, Pinterest, podcasts, forums, and more.

    Good luck to you!

A lack of funds is often one of the main stumbling blocks when starting out in any new venture, not just the internet.
Even if funds are available, they need to be spent wisely.

If marketing products or services are available free of charge, they should at least be considered but it is wise to do some research because "free" is not always a wise choice. You don't want "free" if all it really means is a huge upsell.
Sometimes the perceived value of a product is low when it is given away. However, some free tools can be of tremendous value.
Google is an example of this. They offer useful marketing tools that are free to use. Google make their money through advertising but this does not mean that everyone who uses the Google tools is obliged to place ads.
But it is not only Google who offer useful tools for free. There are other companies. If research is done and the product or service is of true value, then you have nothing to lose.

Personal fundraising can help to destroy the stumbling stones on your road to success

Fundraising online is the most effective and efficient way to raise money. If you are taking part in any fundraising event, such as walk, run, starting a web business or building a group of like minded people, then creating a free MyEvent.com personal fundraising page is the best way to get people to sponsor you for your efforts and participation. A personal fundraising webpage is the best way to raise money for yourself, on behalf of a loved one, or for a particular charity or cause. With hundreds of designs to choose from, you can create a beautifully designed site to share your reason for participating and your own personal fundraising goal.

Your fundraising webpage can include a dynamic thermometer to demonstrate how close you are to achieving your goal, as well as feature names and messages of encouragement from donors. Uploading photos and videos is an effective way to get attention and support. Reach more potential donors by sharing and posting the link to your fundraising page on your personal social media sites.

I would suggest spending a month or so reading this forum and others like it to learn about IM and what it is, the many streams of income into which you can go and so forth. Then decide what your strengths are and pick one stream in which to build an income to start.

Once you are making some passive income, (I'm assuming you don't need it to live on it), then you can explore another stream IF you find it to be of interest. If not, no need to explore, keep building on or expanding the one you have established.

Decide where it takes you from there. DO NOT think you need to try them all. People get distracted doing this!! If you find one that seems to fit you best from the beginning, do not feel like you should explore the others just because people are making their money in them. Doing them all, or more than one, isn't what makes you successful at IM. Making anything online consistently is what makes you successful online, even if it is just hobby income.

But IF you don't know where else to start .... create a niche site and use it to build a list. Get good at selling to that list and from there ... nothing can stop you.

This remember me of the day i started online, I had not much to spend, no time to waste or what so ever. Today i own some huge list and can make money when i want, still learning new things though.
It all begins with your mindset. You have money to spend, actually you have loads of it, you just don't know it yet. Time will always be a problem, i dream of world where every day would be 48 hours. but it is as it is... deal with it. You want to make a living online, you probably search for ways to make fast, easy and much money, STOP HERE! Take the hard, difficult and paid way then mr.success will be knocking on your door.

If you literally have NO money, you are somewhat limited. You could use a free host, but you typically can't join ad networks and stuff like that. So you'd be pretty much stuck with affiliate marketing.

You can get a domain name and one year of hosting at Namecheap for like $15 or something like that. Then, you could at least start building a site and join Infolinks and hopefully AdSense later after you have dozens of articles up. The next step would be to create a whole lot of content. All of this can be done for free (creating the content), except that it obviously takes time to do it. Do NOT use PLR if you go this route. You will need to create your own content, but you can use a simple method like a template. For example, you could post 100,000 YouTube videos (other people's videos, not yours) with a simple fact sheet explaining the basic content of each one. That's just one example.

Majority of people who are just starting out make the mistake of looking for a product first, and a market second. you want to boost your chances of success then start with a market. The trick is to find a group of people who are searching for a solution to a problem, but not finding any results. The internet makes this kind of market research easy, and if you have the right tools its a powerful asset for anyone just getting started.

I think it is sad that Augustus, took 5 months to pluck up the courage to post a thread on this forum and has not been seen or heard off since. Perhaps he was overwealmed, with the many different activities and options for earning money online.

People make it seem easy and it easy to get carried away thinking you have found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow only to discover thats its fools gold. If there was a foolproof five step plan to make a living online everyone would have signed up and there would be no poverty in the world.

The internet has changed over the years but you can save yourself a lot of money if you take time to study and investigate what might work for you. Just because becuase a friend is successful does not mean that you will be. You need to make your own decisions.

You probably need to work a business for six month or more before you know if its the right fit for you, if at the end of this time you not seeing income coming in then it might be best to cut your losses. Most people are not born to make sales, however most business online revolves around sales so its no wonder the failure rate is so high.
