Blog or Squeeze Page for Emai List

Warriors,

In your own opinion do you believe it is easier to build and email list through a blog promoting amazon products? or to build a squeeze page offering a free guide of some sorts, I'm in the weight loss niche focusing "Natural Supplements for Weight Loss"

Just curious, I have a blog, but I am a total noob at this. But I am very hungry to get my foot in this business and am able to spend 4-5 hours a day working on it.

I would use both! build a squeeze page and give away a link bait like a video ore video series, an ebook or maybe an diet plan. Something like that but make sure people need it and it's from high quality.

Also put up an optin form on your side bar on your blog plus one at the end of every blogpost you post. Make your blog to a list building machine as well.

I agree with Marco, use both!

A blog will give you more authority and sales though.

    Here are some tips:
-> Write super high quality blog posts answering questions people have in your niche
-> Reach out directly to your audience and refer to your blog post.
-> Optimize your blog for email opt-ins.

People say blogs only convert about 1% of visitors into subscribers. Let me show you differently.

Here are my yesterday stats of my blog which i just started promoting on tuesday and which had zero traffic before:

I achieved this by following the exact 3 steps i just told you.

    Cheers,
    Jens

As other's have mentioned, use your blog to build your list.

Your blog should be your home base and a place to provide valuable content.

Keep your landing page an option at all time if visitor wants more information from you.

Always focus on building your list and best of all providing value to your niche.

Both should be used if you are building a list.

Use a squeeze page if you are directing traffic for the purpose of building a list.

Your list is another source of traffic for your blog. Your blog will also pick up natural traffic and hopefully opt-ins.

But traffic from things like PPC and Solo Ads should go to a squeeze page for your list to maximize conversions for your dollar (ROI). Once opt-ed in send them to your blog by linking to content you promote to your list.

If you just send a solo ad to your blog you will likely get the traffic but not as many opt-ins (of course test this).

Sharing content links - twitter, facebook, linked in, emails to your list - goes to the blog where the content is.

Natural search traffic (Google) would pick up indexed blog posts. Look and see which posts are getting the most Google traffic (awstats/analytics) and then optimize those pages for conversions.

Driving paid traffic to build your list - PPC, Solo Ads - would go to a squeeze page. You can redirect to your blog instead of a "Thank You" page after opt-in or promote your blog to your list.

Before people subscribe to your list, they have to trust you.

JensSteyaert 3 tips are very powerful.

Another way to do it is to use your blog as your personal journal.

You, an average guy with a weight problem (if you are) journey to lose some pound

This way, visitors will quickly click with you.

So, when you ask them to subscribe to your email to received your blog update, the chance of them subscribing will be higher.

After all, your target market are average guy/girl who are over weight or obese trying to lose some weight.

Remember, Reality Show hit the television industry big time.

    Create your own reality show.

    Best Regards,
