You should. Takes very little time and even if most of the time search engines do not read them it's still worth doing. Any edge is better than no edge.

Most search engines don't even read the meta keywords anymore. I still fill them in, but there really is no point in doing so.

My friend, you keep asking us about SEO Yoast over and over again. While people here don't mind helping, you would be so much better off taking the advice you were given in the last 2-3 threads......read the documentation for SEO Yoast so you know what you're doing.

If you don't feel like doing that, however, then just disable SEO Yoast and don't use it. It is not mandatory to use and it's not going to do any harm not being activated. It's really that simple.

Sorry 'my friend' I will do whatever it takes to get the knowledge I need to succeed. Even if it is mistakenly re asking the same questions again. Don't worry, once I get my answers to the questions, you won't hear my repeated questions ever again

YOAST SEO is a wordpress plugin for putting metas. By this you can put number of synonyms keywords along with descriptions which should be related to your topic and content. By doing so you can get the visibilities by more keywords on search engines easily.

You should be using meta keywords. While Yoast is one of the more common plugins. there are other free ones you can use if you want to (i.e. all-in-one seo plugin). Both of them are quite simple to use. If you're that confused, you can probably Youtube it or something. Having the "entrepreneurial mind set" isn't just about asking questions but rather doing what you can to seek out the answers on your own. This mentality will serve you well when you hit bumps in the road (happens to the best of us).

Google doesn't consider meta keywords tag anymore. The main reason behind still including keywords tag is to optimize the website for other search engines because some search engines still consider keywords tag. Why to avoid traffic from other search engines while they might can get converted?

Meta Tags are important because when search engine search for a keywords, the crawlers come across these similar meta words related to keywords and give results.
To get search results for your Website these meta Keywords are useful.

The advice you got in this thread is quite confusing, as far as I can tell.
If you're using the plugin, read the documentation and follow their advice. You can find everything you need to know right here: https://yoast.com/articles/wordpress-seo/

I agree that some advice in this thread is questionable/outdated.

Personally I don't bother with meta keywords anymore. I do bother with meta description though, at least I try with the important pages. I do it mostly through the custom fields / get_post_meta rather than a third party SEO plugin.

Google ignores meta tags for the most part, so you shouldn't be worried about those. I've noticed you're asking a lot of questions about Yoast in different threads. You'd be better off getting some tutorials and info directly from Yoast.

This page should be able to help you: https://yoast.com/articles/wordpress-seo/

    Cheers,
