Separate domain for Google Adwords?

Hi,

In the past I have used my brand name as a domain for everything. The same .com
for both written material as well as Google Adwords.

I've re-constructed my brand however and I was wondering about choosing
the domain. Can I advertise with keyword.com and then have that as a re-direct to
brandname.com? Or whats the best way to do it?

Why I'm hesitant to use keyword.com all the way is because of SSL etc. If using
those domains not as re-directs, I'd have to get a separate SSL for each and every
domain.

An example:

I advertise on the keyword "get rich quick". Should I put my site on getrichquick.com or just use my brand name stevenandersonandfriends.com?

Because Adwords "experts" say to use the keyword in the domain, as this will increase clickthrough. But isn't this against Google's policy? To have re-direct URLs?

This is against Google's policy and it may suspend the account.

Do not under any circumstance use a redirect. The domain name people see when entering your site MUST match the domain inside the display URL of your ad. The destination URL can be a redirect URL just as long as it points to the display URL.

And yes, having your adgroup's main keyword in your display URL does increase quality score but not necessarily your CTR.

Not a good idea to use redirect. However, you can have people click on your new domain and you can give them the chance to click on the other website as well, simply by linking to it.

The final destination domain must match what you have in the ad - so no to the redirect.

The display URL doesn't have to be the same as the destination URL (the domain does, not the URL) so you can have brandname.com/keyword and send them to brandname.com/normal-url
