You have to have the right motivation.

All of these ideas are good. Anything that promises $100 a day or more is probably a get rich scam or will take alot of money for traffic. Being an affiliate, using adsense, and cpa's is all about getting quality traffic to them from forums and search engines and this is what takes them some time to succeed. You'll probably do alot better with them if you are using paid advertising with Facebook or Bing and this is where freelancing or eBay can help you out. Best of luck with it though

I like to check into this site for ideas often, but can't help but find the irony from all these WSO's that teach you to sell WSO's on how to make money. A lot of it is a joke.

There are countless success stories, hundreds of real life examples of people who have made a killing online, why somone would think its a myth I'll never know.

How about investing those things -- your own skills and time -- into your own product and/or service? A big regret among some affiliates is that they didn't invest in their own ideas, and they had that regret immediately after an affiliate program suddenly shut down or changed its terms of service in a negative way.

it is definitely something you can do and many people around here have done that. Often people tend to over simplify how easy it is to reach these goals and you have to realize that it may involve developing your idea over a period of time, such as a few years. Sometimes people do get lucky and have success faster but if you are like most people it will take some development over a period of time to really get something that is worthwhile.

I made my first $100 from affiliates. When i got my first sale, i believed affiliate works.

I think affiliate is best, whenever you got adsense, it will frustrated you in first time. For newbies, It's too hard to earn a bit money from adsense.

There are a lot of scams out there, but there are some good legitimate systems too. in my opinion, anything worth while is going to have some real work involved. I make good money as an affiliate. Traffic is the heart of this business and the engine that drives it. There is some investing involved in getting good targeted traffic and its the fastest way to make more money, but you can start small if you have the patience.

In answer to the original post, yes, making money online is MOSTLY a myth.

There are ways - mainly this involves getting in early on something new, e.g. teespring a year ago, or lead generation for financial services before the recession. The latter is how I personally earned over $1million 'online'. But it's a distant memory now, and it's a case of finding the next new thing.

Imagine 5 small golden nuggets scattered on a large beach. Then millions of tonnes of horseshit poured steadily onto that beach, covering everything, making the nuggets almost impossible to find. And even if you do find them you have to wade through tonnes and tonnes of horseshit first.

The golden nuggets are there, but they are hidden among the VAST (and when I say vast I mean VAST) amount of spammy, ignorant, selfish & in some cases downright criminal marketeers out there trying to peddle their snake oil courses.

Do you look for the golden nuggets in the horseshit, or find another beach???????

Yeah, it's totally possible. With that said, you need to focus on a long-term business model to achieve such a goal. It's not something that happens overnight. Building websites in conjunction with affiliate marketing is one way of doing that (and the most common). Given that I was once a newbie, I also realize that stuff like this doesn't seem real -- until it actually happens to you. To that point, having a positive mind set goes a long way (learn, implement, tweak, repeat).

It's definitely possible. Your focus should be on helping people though. The money will come. It's easy to get discouraged of course when you are looking for that instant gratification, but take your time with it. Don't necessarily think of this business in the short term. Focus on building relationships and good things will happen.

Absolutely possible - the easiest way is to get into product creation.

And no, I don't mean making terrible, $7 regurgitated nonsense PDFs.. Just find a problem and solve it with your skill set, then find an audience to present your offer to (or find affiliates to promote it on your behalf)

As long as people are looking for a solution to a problem and are unable to find a real, actionable solution.. they will happily pay you for one.

Eg. in my signature is one of my products, PR Jacker. I created it because I wanted a solution to a problem, then a few months later I thought to myself 'Why in the hell am I not selling this?' I threw together a basic sales page in about 3 hours and now it generates ~$1,500/month or so for this one product. I'm sure if I bothered to find some affiliates I would sell a lot more, but for now I have other priorities..

Why do I get paid? Is it because it's a software product? No. It's simply because there was a group of people (myself included) who had a problem that needed solving. I'm getting paid for solving it

Yes. It is possible to make money online. As many others have said, it will be easier to earn via affiliate marketing. You will have to figure out this whole IM industry and how others are making money from it. Then learn.

It's not a myth, but there are however some rules and guidelines. Forget about those who promise you fast and easy money. A successful business takes a lot of time and effort to build and it doesn't happen overnight.

You can really earn a decent income online! This has been proven many times!

Yes, it is possible for a class people only, not for all. They did not reach in this level over night. After trying year & year, they are in this level. Of course one can earn his amount no double about it. To reach in this level, you have to be skilled, patience. Making Money Onine is definitely a Myth... In fact, I don't think anyone is making money at all......

Two challenges that you will face:

1. Making your first $100 - this means you have to execute toward your dreams/wishes to actually getting something out there an converting - many people never make it this far

2. Consistently growing your monthly/annual income. When you make your first $100 it gets much simpler to earn your first $1,000 or even $10,000 online - the next challenge comes with putting a model in place that continues to grow and brings you a sustained income (Ex doesn't disappear with a Google update, doesn't get cut in half by a competitive product in 6-months time, doesn't lose momentum after an initial push or launch, etc...)

Keep these two milestones in mind when you plan the roll out and expansion of your online business.

Thinking you're going to hit it big and appeal to "everyone" is a fool's errand. Any time I hear "everyone" is the target market, I know that seller is headed for a shipwreck.

Focus on making $100 first. Learn how to do that consistently. It isn't hard. Then scale up in expectations, offers, traffic, etc.

As someone who made $7500 last month, I don't think it is a myth. A lot of people make money and you won't find most of them here because they are working on their sites and not being forum pundits.

Yes $3,000 per month is very realistic. However, you will be required to develop the necessary skills to make it happen. You will also be required to have a lot of discipline especially in the beginning of your online marketing journey, because for the most part you're going to suck in the beginning, but if you persevere you will get really good at what you do (and that is when you start making serious money).

Making money online is no myth. Myself and thousands of others are living proof.

However, it's no easy road and you have to have to have a burning desire to be your own boss and a fantastic work ethic.

I do think, however, that making money online has been glorified way too much. That's why so many think it's easy, when in reality it's anything but. You have to be able to cut through the hype. Don't buy product after product and let them sit on your hard drive collecting dust. Instead, do your own research and do some networking.

You'd be surprised how many successful marketers out there are willing to throw you some golden information for the bubble. A lot of marketers who have "made it" love to give back. Those are the people you need to seek out for help. If you've got some extra money to spend, there's also nothing wrong with hiring yourself a coach or a mentor to help fast track the process.

Once you acquire the skills you need you will find yourself unearthing systems that will produce a positive ROI for you. I don't think you need to be a genius to make a full-time living from the Internet. Trust me, I'm no genius.

However, I had a burning desire and a "no fail" attitude. Combine that with a great work ethic, patience, humility, and the willingness to accept failure from time to time, and you're bound to succeed.

It took me more than 3 years before I found my winning "formula." I thought about quitting MANY times along the way, but my attitude is such that I was determined to succeed, no matter how long it took or how many hours I had to put in.

I've struggled for 3 years trying to make money online. I tried every possible avenue from MLM to Affiliate Marketing etc. I found that it definitely is possible to make money online, A LOT of money.

My one piece of advice, don't get overwhelmed by the sea of information on the internet. There are many real methods of making money online, and they work. The problem is that we start learning a method from one guru, and then we come across a Youtube video which also has a great method, and before we know it we've spent hours, days, weeks, months or even years starting and stopping because of so much information.

So, take a week at most to do your research on google, youtube etc. See what interests you, such as Affiliate Marketing, Youtube marketing, etc. And then search for the best ways to make money in that category. It is definitely possible. The internet has made making money a reality for people across the globe. Where I see most people fail is from jumping from one idea to another. Come up with a workable plan, and continue working on it until you reach your income goals.

The thing is it is in the vein of most entrepreneurial thought where we will work 80 hours a week to avoid working 40... until, of course, it all pays off.

I've quite a bit of money online, part-time. One year, I made more money online than I did working a 8-5 job. But it waxes and wanes. I had built my model on Google rankings and now that's gone, staying up on Google is hard enough for normal businesses but I think Google really has something out for online marketing businesses.

Now, I'm struggling to find my next venture. I've tried a few things and failed but that won't stop me from trying other things.

Focus on building a list and rotate CPA offers in the back.

If you are an expert or have knowledge in an area such as web design, you should definitely capitalize on that if there is demand for it.

You could sell you services or create your own products on the subject, use your skills to help others. I think it's very easy to get confused and overwhelmed with all the ways you can make money online. You've mentioned CPA and Affiliate Marketing, but the list is endless.

The key is to focus one thing at a time and just stick to it until it's a success. It sounds easy to do but believe me, it's taken me years to figure that out.

It is possible, but not overnight, and not without a ton of hard work. The sales language you are talking about is aimed at people who expect overnight success--and will fail as a result. But it doesn't mean it can't be done, albeit with much more of an investment of time, money and hard work.

I have earned money through affiliate marketing. So for me, affiliate marketing works.

For the past 5 years, I couldn't think of starting a website for putting adsense on it. Reason? I did not find myself 'courageous' enough. And this is coming from a person who used to cry like hell when someone unsubscribed from her list

Hence, just recently I have starting working on an authority website SOLELY to experiment adsense on it. I don't know how it will go but this is a learning experience and I want to KNOW IT ALL even if I become broke. I am THAT crazy when it comes to my online business. It is a great thing that you have a skill like designing a website. I myself tried everything to make some cash online by doing affiliate marketing and whatsoever but with no success. One thing is successful to me, when I tried selling service using micro jobs websites online and it made me a very good amount (the amount I never expected). So answering your question, you can really make money online. Working as a freelancer will make you real money.

One thing you have to understand is that this is a real business, and it carries with it inherent risks and unpredictability. Being a business, you need to be able and willing to invest your time, effort and money into building it up.

It won't happen overnight, and it is definitely not "pushbutton" riches, despite what many IM salespages may lead you to believe.

You will not get paid in a linear fashion, but the upside of this is that once you put in the necessary effort and get past that tipping point, you will then be able to lead the internet lifestyle, allowing you to dictate where and when you want to work -- it is really flexible and all you really need is a laptop and an internet connection; you can dictate when you want to work and you can schedule your work around your lifestyle.

It is possible. Even some peoples are making much higher than your mentioned amount. Actually Affiliate marketing, Adsense, CPA all of them are effective ways of making money. But in my opinion as a new comer Adsense would be the best option for you.
