Landing Page? Lead Magnet? Help!

i know how to make landing pages , but once i get people to opt-in i have been having trouble getting any sales....on my landing page i always give something away, im trying to figure out how to make my lead magnet page..once the person opts-in should it send them straight to the "whatever" i was giving away , and on that same page should i put my other offers (where i actually make money) on the same page? or once they opt-in should i just send them a email with more information. im still new to this hopefully whoever reads this can follow

A school of thought goes one of two ways. After opt-in, a user should go to either A. A thank you page, where you give them the lead magnet, then follow up with offers VIA email, or B. Follow up with the OTO, and send them the link to the lead magnet in the email after they've seen what you're selling. There's no one way of doing it, although I prefer the latter. You'll have to test, to see which is better for you. There's no right answer. It depends on how prone your traffic is to buying something on the spot, as opposed to being warmed up.

antonio how do i go about this? maybe im a little confused, like i said im still VERY new to this
are you saying putting my offer into the freebie as in you cant get the FREEBIE unless you buy the offer?

great advice, i plan on giving away "free instructional videos" on how to do certain things, i was thinking after they opt-in redirecting them to the page with the videos, let them watch the videos (if they do) and the information i will be giving them will solve one problem, but the offers below the videos will solve even BIGGER problems related to what they just learned , does this make sense? i also plan on giving away e-books, etc.

What I recommend you to do is introduce yourself with a video or just text or maybe even a audio - on the thank you page.

Why? ... because the lead will be receiving emails from you, right? .. and if they see your name on the emails but don't really know who you are - they are going to either mark your email as spam or unsubscribe!

And this will result in low conversion rates.

You should introduce who you are on the thank you page and then ask to confirm their email, in order to get to the freebie.

This double opt-in strategy will help you filter out the fake emails.

I see a lot of people who don't do this. They have a nice capture page - and offer a freebie. Then never care to introduce themselves on the thank you page and actually tell the lead that they will be receiving emails.

If you do this, your conversion rates will be very good!

    I hope this helps!

    Keep up the great work!

        You answered the question yourself

I used to have a link on my thank you page directly to my free offer.

But then I realized that people were putting in fake email addresses (which is really too bad for them, because I offer real valuable content in my emails - not the "churn and burn" type at all).

        So I changed it up.

Now my squeeze page tells them they need a valid email address to access the report.

And the thank-you page tells them to check their email, and also links to my website (in case they need help), and also links to an offer that I really think is excellent and very closely tied to what I offer on my squeeze page.

If you use a double opt-in process you can set their expectations on the thank you page. And you can add a low dollar (value) offer on your confirmation page. Of course the freebie goes in the email you send after the confirmation.

The number of people who confirm will be lower. But at least now you've given yourself a chance to deliver a powerful message (or two) before they lose interest. Which leads me to the last thing - make sure you've got your best follow up messages in que - They'd better be good because you've got one chance to make a first impression.

Couple of things you can do actually..

You can offer OTO (One Time Offer) right after someone opts in..

Or you can continue delivering quality knowledge, create the bond and then follow up with your product..

If you're writing your own. Be personal and conversational. Give details about yourself and why you're a good person to listen to. Give some backstory. Then introduce tools you use and why they work. Give examples and make suggestions based on those examples.

And don't be boring. Boring = Broke!

You have to ask yourself why anyone would want to receive your emails or even read them. Are you offering anything ground breaking or the same IM tosh that most people throw out. What you are experiencing is very common. Think of all the IM email lists you unsubscribe from. Emails will either not be opened, go to spam or be unsubscribed from.

I prefer emails. But the email should have clear subject to be opened. Personally when I open my inbox, there are some subjects I simply cannot ignore, so I open and read.

Definitely send your offer through email rather than on a thank you page. People use fake email addresses all the time so if they see that in order to get the thing you're offering, they're more likely to go back and provide you with their real email address. As others said, instead of a thank you page, redirect them to an OTO to pick up some sales while you're building your list.

No, you actually make money on back-end... Don't send them to offer that's silly...

First give them a FREEBIE and then you incorporate your offer in the freebie or follow them up via your autoresponder
