Weebly or WordPress and why?!?!

Guys, I'm very puzzled about what platform should I use to start my blog. I have a good experience in (blogging and making money) and (writing skills) together so decided to start my own blog that makes a good income.

WordPress is good .. Weebly too.
WordPress provides annual plans which means high prices when it comes to paying in one time. Weebly do it monthly so you can handle it easier.

In the other hand I see many people use WordPress .... So ?! I really need some advices and entries from people.

Best Regards,
Yazeed.

I think you're referring to WordPress.com with the hosted pricing -

I would recommend the self hosted version of WordPress, at wordpress.org

It's free, but you would need to get hosting for it, and you're able to do much more with it in terms of customizations and overall just the limits of what you can do with a blog, or a standard website.

Article here on the differences -

I would always go with Wordpress.

It's free, extremely easy to use and you have a plugin for everything imaginable. I also think Wordpress has the best track record and potential for the future than most other platforms.

If you don't see something you need already offered as a plugin, it's fairly affordable and simple to get one developed.

Like HA Dave said, get a self hosted domain and use WordPress on it - not Wordpress.com and not Weebly. You want to be in control on your own website, especially if you're trying to make money from it.

I will choose wordpress 10 times out of 10, you can really customize so many things and play around with moving parts, weebly is good but it has a long way to go to be compared with wordpress in my humble opinion..

If you're serious about blogging (and plan to make money from it), you should go with the self-hosted version of Wordpress. When I say "self-hosted," I'm referring to purchasing your own domain name (about $13 per domain per year), web hosting (about $10 per month for unlimited hosting - means if you decide to ever start up a second or third site -- many marketers do -- you will be able to have them under the same account, so you'll be paying $10/month if you have one site or 10).

Having a self-hosted blog means you will be able to control the content on your site (very important) as well as be able to build a list (also very important - should do this once your site starts getting traffic). Aweber (for list building, so you can promote to the people who sign up to your list over and over again, acts as an additional income stream) offers a $1 trial for the first month, then varies depending on the number of subscribers you have).

While this might seem like a lot, all of these costs are standard and can be made up with just a few sales. Wordpress is also very easy to set up (did it on the first try when I got started) - not a tech-savvy person. Wordpress has a lot of awesome plugins that you can add to your blog to take it to the next level as well. I hope this helps in your decision-making process.

I think it depends on your objectives, but overall I consider WordPress to be better overall. The countless themes and plugins also make it very flexible.

About the pricing, you could bypass the WordPress.com hosting plan, and go with a dedicated hosting service like BlueHost or JustHost for example. You get to choose how you want to pay (monthly, yearly...) plus you can host additional domain names for free.

WordPress will give you a lot more control over what you are using in terms of flexibility and expandability. With Weebly, you're not able to expand the functionality by simply adding a plugin, whereas with WordPress, you can do countless things from a blog to a forum (BBPress) to even a social network (BuddyPress).

Always go self-hosted too, so it is easier to migrate if you need a bigger server or if you need more space.

Self hosted Wordpress with a good host. That's the most popular and most dependable. No need to over complicate it!

Wordpress because it is very easy to use, it's free, and is very customizable while being user friendly at the same time.

Being rather new to the game and have tried quite a few of platforms, I would also go with wordpress like the others said. I find it way more easier, user friendly and customization is a breeze.
